Nerve disorder pain was like electric shock: Salman Khan




















Salman Khan was in pain for four years but competitive box office pressure combined with fans' expectations that have only grown since he delivered three back to back hits have forced Salman Khan to suppress a nerve disorder for four years.

The disarming attitude of superstar Salman Khan is visible once again. The acclaimed actor, who is currently taking rest after an eight hour long surgery for the nerve disorder called 'Trigeminal Neuralgia', is all set to resume shooting for his upcoming films. The actor has revealed that he was under severe pain since four years but did not disclose it due to the care for fans' concerns.

The protagonist of latest superhit Bodyguard said," I did not want people to know about the surgery as my fans get worried, but the news spread and everybody got concerned about how serious the ailment was."

Presently under the vigilance of doctors in New Jersey, USA, Salman Khan said, "The pain might go in six months or it may take three to four years, it depends. I will have to come back again for check-up."

The lead actor of forthcomings as Ek Tha Tiger and Sher Khan revealed the inception of the problem and said," The problem started while I was working on 'Partner' (2007). A part of my forehead used to pain, as if somebody had applied electric shock in the area. Gradually the pain extended to my cheek and then throughout the filming of 'Veer' my right jaw pained."

"Its a nerve problem called Trigeminal Neuralgia, which causes this pain. This nerve originates in the brain and is divided into three parts of the face", added Khan.

Salman Khan's next film Ek Tha Tiger is a Yash Raj Films production and is scheduled to hit the theaters next year. Sher Khan, a Sohail Khan film, is also waiting for his return to complete the shooting. (With additional information from PTI)

After surgery, Salman Khan to resume shooting in a week

Actor Salman Khan, who recently underwent a nerve surgery in the US, would resume shooting in a week's time, family sources said.

Salman, who has been suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia, a nerve disorder that causes intense pain in the face, had left for the US on August 29 and successfully underwent the first surgery two days later.

"He is much better now and has been advised to take rest before he starts shooting for 'Ek Tha Tiger'. Doctors are reviewing his health. This is not like you go for one sitting and it is done...hope all goes well," Salman's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri said.

"He should resume shooting by September 10," he added. Salman would head to South Africa to shoot for Yash Chopra's 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

The 'Dabangg' star has been suffering from the pain in his jaw since 2007 while shooting for 'Partner'. It got worse last year, following which, he decided to undergo a surgery.

Salman's recent release 'Bodyguard' is on a record breaking spree.

"He is updated every day about 'Bodyguard'. He is very much happy. This was an important release for him. He takes good and bad films in equal spirit," Atul said.

'Bodyguard', starring Salman and Kareena Kapoor was released on Eid and has surpassed the record of 'Dabangg' and 'My Name is Khan'.
