Akshay Kumar to learn combat karate for ?Rowdy Rathore?
He is a black belt in Taekwondo and now Akshay Kumar is learning traditional combat karate for his role in ?Rowdy Rathore?.
Directed by Prabhudeva, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala and co-produced by designer Shabinaa Khan, the film has Sonakshi Sinha opposite Akshay.
The 43-year-old actor, who is extremely fitness conscious, will soon be heading to an undisclosed location for two months to train in this form of martial art.
?The movie will introduce to audiences a new kind of sport and being the professional that he is, Akshay has decided to take two months off to train intensively in combat karate,? said a source.
?Set in the rustic heartland of the country, the film has a lot of action and required a star who knew the technical know-hows of his dangerous sport. Akshay seemed the perfect fit since being a trained martial arts professional he could pull the role off with panache,? the source added.

Aamir all set to write new film, Kiran to direct
Not only has he been a prolific actor and filmmaker, Aamir Khan has even penned the story for one of his early films - 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' and wrote the screenplay for 'Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke'.
Now, he is all set to wield the magic of the pen with a new script that he is co-writing with wife Kiran, cousins Mansoor and Nuzhat Khan.
Speaking to IBNLive, Aamir divulges his plans, "I intend to work once again as a writer. I have been co-writing a script with Kiran, Mansoor and Nuzhat. We start next month."
Holding his plans close to his chest, the filmmaker chooses to give out only limited information: "It is originally my idea which I discussed with the rest. But the process is still in a very early stage."
Surprisingly, Aamir does not want to direct this project and instead says Kiran will be taking over the director's hat.
He also adds that the film that will take shape from the script will belong to the mainstream genre. But he does not rule out further participation in the project. He admits, "Hopefully I will be acting in the film." Some of his most recent films like Peepli Live, Dhobi Ghat and Taare Zameen Par have all been offbeat films.
Apart from dishing out these details, Aamir chose to keep mum on the project. However, he said that if the script works out, he will start work on the film only after he wraps up his next film Dhoom 3. He said, "If the script gets locked in another four to five months, then I can confirm it in another six months."

No ego issues between big stars in Bollywood: Shahrukh Khan
Shahrukh Khan returned to IIFA 2011 in Toronto after having skipped the annual event for seven years. Incidentally, while Shahrukh was in Toronto, other stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan couldn?t make it there, leading to obvious questions about strained relationships among Bollywood actors.
However, speaking to reporters at IIFA in Toronto, Shahrukh Khan rubbished such notions as media-created myth.
When a TV reporter asked Shahrukh why big stars don?t come together at events like IIFA, Shahrukh?s reply was straightforward and brusque.
"I actually don't understand your question. We all have been under one roof many times and we are very proud of all the award functions, IIFA especially, around the world. Whenever we are called, we attend," Shahrukh said.
The actor further added: "Your channel said (some time ago) that I am not going to a function because Mr Bachchan is there. That's not true. That's rubbish. But we cannot question your rubbish...All of us come together whenever we have the time to perform, especially when we go to present our best face internationally, like here in Toronto."
About why he himself skipped IIFA for seven years, Shahrukh said: "I know a lot of people make a thing of the seven years that I have not been at IIFA ...it has no personal angst to it. It is just that it falls during the summer holidays for my young kids."

Shahrukh blames theatre for his smoking habit
Everybody knows that Shahrukh Khan is a chain smoker and he has run into trouble a few times in the past because of the habit. And now, he has blamed his early days in theatre for the bad habit. He said that he started smoking during his theatre days.
?I remember when a fireplace was put up, the guys used to go behind the fireplace to smoke and put out the fire. That's how I also started smoking and it is not my fault. It has (this habit) got all to do with theatre,? Mid Day quoted the actor as saying.
King Khan however said that he loves theatre and would like to return again. ?I belong to theatre. I started off doing a lot of stage in Delhi... first small time and then a little on the streets. Always the desire was to be a theatre actor. I used to work with John Barry and even Sheilaji - a lot of wonderful producers, directors. We used to go out and perform in small little theatres and on stages,? he added.

Salman Khan too busy to host Bigg Boss 5
The demand for Salman Khan has never been so high. Following the back-to-back successes of Dabangg and Ready which are among the all-time blockbusters in Bollywood history, producers have been queuing up to sign Salman, but he?s so hard-pressed for time that he has to turn down a lot of offers.
The latest, we hear, is that Salman Khan has expressed his inability to host the fifth season of the telly show ?Bigg Boss? because he?s too much wound up in film commitments. Salman was the host of Bigg Boss 4 last year and his presence helped the show score good telly ratings.
But a slew of Bollywood projects in Salman?s kitty make it almost impossible for him to squeeze out time for ?Bigg Boss 5?. Here?s a quick lowdown: Salman is busy with films like Bodyguard with Kareena Kapoor and Ek Tha Tiger with Katrina Kaif. After that he will commit to good friend Sajid Nadiadwala?s film Kick, brother Sohail Khan?s Sher Khan and, of course, Dabangg 2.
So Salman has reportedly told Colors, the channel that airs Bigg Boss, that he won?t be able to host Bigg Boss 5 this year. Not just that, he is reported to have recommended Sanjay Dutt as the new host.
However, the channel has yet not signed Dutt on to host the show.
We ask you...can Sanjay Dutt be a better host than Salman Khan, if not as good?

Hrithik's Just Dance hinders Agneepath shoots
Actor Hrithik Roshan is juggling his shoots between his upcoming film Agneepath and the show Just Dance on Star Plus. On Friday evening, the actor, who was shooting the climax on the small island Diu in Gujurat had to rush to Mumbai for the shoots of Just Dance. As there was no connecting flight between the two places at the required time, Hrithik took a chartered plane to reach the shooting spot in Mumbai. After shooting the entire night in Mumbai, the actor again flew back to Diu the very next morning. This constant shift between the work has created disturbances in Agneepath's shooting. Director Siddharth Malhotra and Hrithik are not happy with the to and fro travelling, reports Mid Day. Diu is a sensitive area and permission to shoot there is attained with much effort. The shooting for the dramatic climax of the film is facing hindrance because of Hrithik's frequent schedules. Says Hrithik, "We tried to adjust the dates as much as we could. I'm working virtually like a machine between Just Dance and Agneepath, without breaks or any respite. It's like doing three films at the same time! But as long as my day is filled with good work I am ready to take on even more."
The actor even missed the trip to Toronto for the 12th International Indian Film Academy Awards. ?I think my first day off now would be in October. And boy, am I looking forward to that, " concluded Hrithik.

Still in a daze about impending fatherhood: Abhishek Bachchan
Ever since actor Amitabh Bachchan broke the news of daughter-in-law, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan?s pregnancy on Twitter, soon-to-be-dad actor Abhishek Bachchan can hardly contain his joy.
The excitement is hard to miss, even though Abhishek admits that he's ?still in a daze?. ?I don?t think it sinks in completely for any parent until they hold their baby in their arms,? he shares, adding that he?s just busy savouring the happiness, as congratulations continue to pour in from family, friends and fans.
In fact, all guests at Jalsa are even greeted with mithai (a family tradition) ? an assortment of motichoor laddoos and pedhas ? two different varieties to not air further speculation of the baby being a girl or a boy as is common practice.
Recalling the earlier constant speculation about them being in the ?family? way right after their marriage four years back, Abhishek says, ?We had always maintained that as soon as we had some good news to share, our fans would be the first ones to know and that's what we did. When mom was expecting me, Pa had wanted grand-dad (late Harivanshrai Bachchan) to announce the good news, and he did that by writing personalised letters to inform all, back then. We wanted to give the same joy to Pa, so he announced it on Twitter, to reach out to our fans first.?
The excited father-to-be does not want any kind of stories floating post the announcement of the baby to mar his happiness. ?I have better things at hand to think about.? Like names for the baby? ?We haven?t started that yet, but we will begin soon.? And will it be from ?A? as well? ?Let's see. May be,? he smiles. Confirming that it?ll be a November baby, Abhishek however laughs off rumours of them expecting twins.
Fortunately for the actor, most of his films will not require him to shoot away from home. ?I would?ve any way put everything on a back burner for my family. They always come first.? At the moment, however, what?s keeping daddy Abhishek busy is his ?first baby? the forthcoming film starring Bachchan Sr, after which he plans to ?catch up on reading a lot of pregnancy books,?he smiles.
Admitting that it?s the best gift, he?s ever gotten, he says that it might be tough to find something as precious to gift back Aishwarya. ?I can?t promise her the best gift, but loads of pampering ? that?s assured. Ajay gets Asin, Genelia for Abhishek
Buzz is that Rohit Shetty's 'Bol Bachchan' has finalised its cast.
According to our birdies, the out-and-out comedy earlier had Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan on board while the hunt for their leading ladies was on. Now it is said that Asin and Genelia D'Souza have been signed on respectively.
It is said that Asin and Ajay share the same endorsement company which helped the actress to bag this film. However, some sources share that that's not the case and Asin is just impressed with the script while she is yet to give her nod for the project. On the other hand, the production team believe that Abhishek along with Genelia seems to be quite fresh pair.
Alleged to be inspired from Hrishikesh Mukherjee's popular 1979 film, 'Bol Bachchan' expected to starts its shooting from August 20 at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.

Aishwarya seen for first time after pregnancy news
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was seen along with her husband Abhishek Bachchan for the first time after her pregnancy news. The couple was seen at a special screening of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS at a suburban multiplex.
The actress was spotted wearing a white top and a full length yellow shrug on a blue jeans. Her baby bump was not visible. It's believed that her baby is due in November, which makes her four months pregnant.
Meanwhile, her upcoming film HEROINE which was announced at the Cannes Film Festival this year is kept on hold by UTV.

UTV movies final word on ?Heroine?? Ash out PC in???
Madhur Bhandarkar?s ambitious project Heroine looks like a never ending project. Aishwarya Rai?s pregnancy came as a shock to the director. But now the final word is out that since the movie would require Ash to dance, smoke and run, UTV Productions have decided that they cannot complete the project as Aishwarya, being in pregnancy stage, should not risk her health.
UTV movies released a press release stating: ?We would like to put an end to the speculative and factually incorrect stories that are doing the rounds on Heroine, and to clarify the position on the film once and for all. At this point nothing is more important than Aishwarya?s well being and good health. In that context, we have all mutually agreed that the best step would be to avoid shooting further, rather than proceeding with an incredibly demanding schedule over the coming months. Even as we will truly miss this opportunity to work with Aishwarya, the entire unit wishes her the very best for the exciting time ahead, as she and Abhishek move into this special new phase in their lives.?
Since, Ash is no more a part of the film, rumours has it that Priyanka Chopra had shown keen interest in replacing Aish and even sms?ed Madhur to cast her!

Abhi-Ash wants a daughter and a son?
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan plan to have an ideal Indian family of two kids, a daughter and a son.
Like his father Amitabh Bachchan who had a daughter (Shweta Bachchan) first and a then a son, Abhishek too wants a daughter first and a son later.
He first expressed his desire for a daughter on his twitter page, and now he has reiterated it in an interview. Abhishek has candidly revealed that he and Ash plan on having two kids. This is not the first time he has done that.
Abhishek also says that it was Aishwarya Rai?s idea to let pa Amitabh Bachchan break the news of her pregnancy to the world..

Anushka Sharma interrogated by customs officials for over 9 hours.
Anushka Sharma was detained by custom officials at the Mumbai international airport for carrying unaccounted gold, diamond-studded jewellery and other belongings. She was apparently interrogated for over nine hours and was finally let off after that.
The actress, who landed here yesterday at 2:30 pm from the IIFA award ceremony in Toronto was let off, past midnight after questioning for more than nine hours. Her statement has been recorded and she will be called for questioning again if required, customs commissioner, PM Govande told PTI.
Customs officials are also verifying the documents provided by her claiming that the belongings were taken from India, he said.
The 23-year-old Baand Baaja Baraat star claimed that while going abroad, she had taken the valuables from India and had declared the goods at that time and hence need not pay the duty.
She was stopped by the customs while passing through the green channel after she was found in possession of gold and diamond-studded jewellery and two watches collectively worth Rs 35 lakhs approximately, officials said.
The pretty actress seems to be having a rough time of it currently.
