Bachchans slam media for 'spreading rumours' about Aish's delivery date

The Bachchan family and their doctors have slammed certain sections of the media for 'circulating rumours' about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's planned delivery. A Mumbai tabloid, citing sources, claimed that a luxury hospital suite has been booked for Aishwarya from November 10 to 15 at the Seven Hills Hospital in the Marol-Andheri area of Mumbai ? insinuating that Ash's due date definitely falls between these dates. The paper also claimed that there is a possibility of the actress undergoing a C-section procedure on November 11, 2011 (11-11-11) ? a number assumed to be lucky.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's publicist and the Seven Hills Hospital have released a joint statement condemning the tabloid for publishing "false and fabricated news". Rejecting the article's claims of an 11-11-11 delivery, Aishwarya's spokesperson accused the media of permanently damaging the family's reputation. "(The report) ridiculously insinuates that such an esteemed and respected family would turn nature's course for blind sensationalised beliefs. If by the will of God and nature's turn, she does end up delivering on the date mentioned, this fictitious article will remain with her for the rest of her life. As an international icon, is this the tag she will carry for the rest of her life? This is not what she needs at this happy moment."

Refuting the tabloid's claims that the hospital takes special precautions to ensure Aishwarya's privacy during the visits and doctors arrive at 7:30 in the morning for her check-ups, Dr Pai, head of radiology and VP, Seven Hills Hospital, said, "The report has taken me by surprise?the information and details are a figment of someone's imagination. The 7:30 am appointments and a C-Section for November 11 have no resemblance to the truth. Such stories only show the medical fraternity in bad light. Sonography is a personal procedure and is not performed in open wards; hence it would not be different for any patient; as each is entitled to their privacy."

Excessive speculation over Aishwarya's pregnancy angers Bachchans

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in her ninth month of pregnancy has become a topic of national interest. And, with speculations around her delivery date making rounds in the media circuits, the news has got everyone hooked onto details of her pregnancy. However, all this hullaballo over her pregnancy and the speculated date (11.11.11) on which she will deliver her baby has miffed the Bachchans.

Her publicist has said, ?It is ridiculous to insinuate that an esteemed and respected family would actually turn nature?s course for such blind sensationalised beliefs. Time and again, media has come forward with regressive remarks like marrying her off to a tree or actually planning delivering her baby, which is untrue?.

And, to the reports of her delivery being planned in the seven star hospital Seven Hills, Dr. Pai of Head of Radiology and Vice President at the hospital says, ?The reports floating around in the media circles about Aishwarya?s delivery at this hospital are a figment of someone?s imagination. There is no truth in such stories about the hospital room booked for a C-section on the 11th of this month?.

However, what the publicist and the good doctor forget is that there is a tremendous amount of interest in the private life of a public figure such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and there is bound to be speculation by the media on such issues.

Salman or Aamir... there is no comparison for Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 46th birthday in Mumbai on Wednesday amid family and fans. On the ocassion, he spoke about various subjects...from his world promotional tour of Ra.One, birthday gifts and family to how hard the other Khans in the industry work.

?I have been in this industry for almost 20 years now so the question of returning to Bollywood doesn?t arise, ?Badshah toh Badshah hi rahega? (a king will always be a king). I have been living in Bandra for a long time now, and have just returned from a long journey from around the world, where I enjoyed with my fans as they all loved ?Ra.One?.

My film (?Ra.One?) has been in news because its returns at the box-office are whopping, in crores. The film has also received raving comments on twitter. For me what matters the most is that ?Ra.One? is the most talked about film of my life. This film has definitely made a difference as far as technicality in Bollywood is concerned. In the end, the fans, audiences, critics and who?s who from the industry, and even those outside the industry are talking about my film.

I have done my job sincerely and I am happy that now after returning from my long international trip, I will get ample of time to sleep. I am also fond of bathing for longer hours which I can now. And at the moment a sequel to ?Ra.One? is not on my mind.

I want to wish good luck to my peers in the film industry because we have to work very hard in Bollywood. I feel Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and others too have worked very hard on their films and have done well. I do not believe in any comparisons as such. I have tried to bring Hollywood into my films by some way or the other but I have no plans of being a part of Hollywood. My Indian films are excellent and I want the international filmmakers to know and crave for Bollywood films more and more.

When I got up on my birthday, at about 12.30 noon, I was impatiently waiting to unwrap gifts from my family and near and dear ones which were kept all around my bedside. As a kid I never got expensive gifts from my parents because we were middle class people and they could not afford those. Once they had given me a pendant which had some precious godly words written inside it. This pendant is very close to my heart. I always cry remembering that pendant. Also, I love to take my kids on the ?mazaar? of my parents and thank them for giving me this life.

My kids have made a lovely poster for me in which they have written, ?You are the best papa. We do not need any angels as our papa is the best and gives whatever we need. Your film ?Ra.One? will break all records because you have worked very hard without sleeping for days together. We are proud that our papa is hard working and sincere? Many happy returns of the day.?

John Abraham, Akshay Kumar turn pole dancers

Akshay Kumar and John Abraham are set for a tryst with pole dancing. The duo will be seen in a pole dancing sequence in Rohit Dhawan?s upcoming film, Desi Boyz. And being complete professionals, Akshay and John went all out to get hands-on training for the sequence.

So much so that professionalism they showed delighted director Rohit Dhawan. ?It?s not a long sequence. In fact, they pole dance only for 30 seconds in a song. But Akshay and John are so professional that they trained for it before shooting,? confirms Rohit. ?Before the sequence, they visited a few clubs in London ? where we were shooting ? and jumped on stages to practice with real poles. I think they did the right thing because it?s (pole dancing) not an easy job.?

At the same time, Rohit wants to clarify that his film isn?t about pole dancing, as the general buzz suggests. ?Many people feel that the film is about pole dancing or that they are playing pole dancers in the film. But let me clarify that it is not the case. But at the same time, though the pole-dancing bit is a short one, it has big ramifications and really affects their lives. So, it?s an important part of the story,? says Rohit.

Although both John and Akshay went all out for the sequence, Rohit feels it was relatively easier for Akshay. ?He is well-versed with Parkour. And since that too involves lot of twist and turns, I think he picked up the tricks easily. But I can say that both the actors have literally put in their best foot forward,? says the director.

And besides Akshay and John, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh also star in the film that releases on November 25. The film has been mostly shot in London with very few sequences being canned in studios in Mumbai.

Shahrukh Khan eyeing Mumbai franchise in Indian Racing League

Superstar Shahrukh Khan, who owns the team Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL, is now eyeing a stake in the Indian Racing League. According to the Bollywood actor, his company is considering the prospects of investment in the Mumbai franchise, but it is yet to be finalised.

The i1 Super Series, the motor racing league, was launched in August this year and Machdar Motorsports are the promoters of the league. At the launch event, the promoters had announced that the series would be based on the popular city based franchisee format and it would have nine teams representing nine different cities in the country including Delhi, Chennai and other metros.

The first edition of the motor sports event is scheduled to hit the tracks in January next year. SRK's company is in talks for the Mumbai franchise. Talking to the PTI, Shahrukh Khan told, "Personally I don't know much. I haven't met anyone. My company is looking at it. They had talks with them."

However, Shahrukh Khan's team in IPL cricket did not fare well in the three editions of the cash-rich tournament, but in the fourth season, this year it reached the semi-finals. Now, it should be seen whether he will be successful in Indian Racing League.
