Huzefa Lokhandwala: Aamir's knowledge is commendable

The credit for DELHI BELLY's success not only goes to Aamir Khan's shrewd marketing tactics and the immensely popular song 'Bhaag D K Bose', but also to the man who gave the mean comedy crisp editing to match with the storyline and now he is sweeping awards at various award functions. Well the man is none other than Huzefa Lokhandwala, who bagged the award for Best Editing for DELHI BELLY at the recently held 18th Annual Colors Screen Awards 2012 and 57th Filmfare Awards.

Huzefa Lokhandwala, who has 14 years of rich experience in the post production industry, with his distinct vision and creativity converted more than 400 hours of video footage of DELHI BELLY into a two hour movie without having diluted the directors vision. However for Huzefa it was all like solving a puzzle game. More than a challenge it was fun for him. Says Huzefa, "It's challenging but in the form of a puzzle game. More than challenge it was like having a fun."

Having said that, the award winning film required a special attention on the editing table as the genre and content of the film was unexplored. "The script of DELHI BELLY, written by Akshat, was very strong. It demanded a special attention and ample support on the editing table. The genre of DELHI BELLY was something new so you'd better try something innovative to make it work. It takes lot of guts to put together such a film and pull it out. As the script was untouched, there was a risk of it going slapstick. There was a pressure of not overdoing it. We constantly kept restricting ourselves to not overdo it," Says Huzefa.

He further adds, "With powerful editing your film can either go leaps and bounds ahead or very badly fare. It is such a powerful tool where the director finds his vision falling into place. He finds the vision unfurling. Editing is very important part of filmmaking as it comes towards the end."

Moreover, Huzefa and Abhinay Deo, the director of DELHI BELLY, share a great bonding and understanding as they both come from the same (advertising) industry. "With Abhinay I share a very casual relation as we know each other from long time. Abhinay chooses not give me any brief. He finds a perspective in me that he does not want to colour with his own briefs. He doesn't impose his own interpretation. On the contrary he likes to have my views as well. A lot of directors now-a-days give that space to the editor," says Huzefa.

As per Huzefa, DELHI BELLY's success is incomplete without Aamir Khan. His immense knowledge and huge experience contributed a lot for the film.

"The knowledge that Aamir brings from producers perspective is commendable. Being with him was a very humbling experience. His caliber is so immense and experience is so strong that whatever point he makes appears as valid and logical. There's no room for argument. If something is not working he has no qualms in preventing it. And the fact that DELHI BELLY worked tells a lot," says a modest Huzefa on a parting note.

Shahrukh Khan-Farah Khan bond after SRK-Shirish fight

Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan, who were not on talking terms are friends once again. The Shahrukh Khan-Shirish Kunder fight seems to have worked as a reason for Farah and Shahrukh to become friends once again.

Recently, Shirish had accused Shahrukh of having slapped him at a party. Shahrukh and Shirish met at the formers house along with their respective wives and the key mediators ? Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan. The meeting not only helped in resolving the problem between Shirish and Shahrukh, it also cleared all misunderstanding between Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan.

Farah seems happy and content at last. Boman Irani, who will be seen opposite Farah Khan in Shirin Farhad recently tweeted, ?Filming With Farah for Shirin Farhad. Great to see her happy, as all is well with SRK. A bounce in her step & cheerful. Here's to friendship! (sic).?

Slapgate' reportage affecting my kids: Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan Wednesday rejected to categorically state whether he had slapped Shirish Kunder or not but told the reportage on the incident was affecting his kids.

Lots of things are being said about my life in news channels but the stuff which you put up in the channels are not the whole truth. This is embarrassing at times as I have a 14-year-old son and an 11-and-a-half year old daughter," told Shah Rukh, who was in the city to address a programme.

The Bollywood badshah felt it was embarrassing for a father to explain certain issues to his children.

"Every morning it becomes very difficult to explain to your children and it becomes embarrassing as a father, as a brother or as elder son of the family to explain about what is stated," he said journalists.

Shah Rukh reportedly roughed up editor-filmmaker Shirish, the husband of his former friend Farah Khan, in the wee hours of Monday during Sanjay Dutt's success party for "Agneepath".

"Bollywood stories are presented in a larger than life way... I have read the headlines. Yeah, some of them have not happened and some of them might have happened, but I would like to keep it to myself," he remarked.

Describing Farah as a very old friend, Shah Rukh regretted the reports that have been published about his differences with her.

"I have heard things that have been stated about us and it's very difficult for people to sit down and read things in the house. In our house, the kids call her Farah aunty. It's really sad when for last two years people say she said this and that... None of that is happening," he told.

However, he sounded hopeful of settling the differences.

"We can resolve our issues... certain issues we can resolve with hugs and happiness and I want to keep it personal," he told.

Aamir's 3 IDIOTS to help fight terrorism

The song 'All Is Well' in the film 3 IDIOTS showed Ranchodas Shamaldas Chanchad aka Aamir Khan trying to fix a helicopter like device, which ultimately records the suicide of a classmate in its maiden flight, will now be used to fight terrorism. The device has been adopted by the security forces of India, including the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), to fight terrorism and counter-insurgency operations.

The machine in the movie, which grabbed eye-balls, is the same as the one built by Idea-Forge, a company founded by three IIT-Bombay alumni. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have tied up with Idea-Forge to refine the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and have named it Netra.

What started out in a movie is now going to be used to fight terrorism taking the whole concept of being innovative to a whole new level.

I want to interview Salman Khan ? Imran Khan

Imran Khan, who is known to give good interviews to the media, himself wants to interview superstar Salman Khan.

?I would like to interview someone whom I don?t know. From Bollywood, I would like to interview Salman Khan. He gives interview very rarely. Here and there, when he is in the mood, he gives one or two deadly one liners, but nobody has ever managed to get him to really talk and open up,? Imran told reporters.

?He is always very guarded in his interviews,? he added.

Imran believes that unlike other journalists, he could put Salman at ease.

?My idea is to sit and have a conversation, rather than having a Q and A session with him,? he said.

Imran is presently gearing up for his latest film ?Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu?, to be released Feb 10.

Talking about his pairing with Kareena Kapoor, he said: ?There was a lot of buzz when we signed the film. People were like, Kareena is so older to me. How will they look together? The fact is that Kareena is just one year older to me.?

?But if you actually watch the film, within a minute this thing goes away from your mind because we fit into the characters well,? he added. ? IANS
