?Delhi Belly? makers in trouble, yet again?

It is a problem that could wheel the film and its producers down the road to some serious legal issues

There is no rest for the wicked in B-town. And Delhi Belly is one of the wickedest, most interesting and sickest films made recently, if you go by what the critics and general public are saying, anyway. In all the you-know-what that is flying around, many seem to have missed a small facet of the film that could, if it comes to that, cause much trouble for the makers of the madness. The auto company, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), is considering legal action against the film, for ?allegedly depicting one of the company?s cars in a derogatory manner?. According to a spokesperson from HMIL, ?Our legal team is looking into the matter and watching the film clips. Accordingly, we will decide our future course of action.? The production house denies any knowledge of any such lawsuit. The problem is a car, ?seemingly looking like a Santro?, which has been used in the film ? though without the branding evident; and some of the dialogue referring to the car is, the makers say, in dreadfully bad taste. In Delhi Belly the rather small and unnamed automobile is not only mangled, but derided by the rather large Kunaal Roy Kapoor, who says that ?When a donkey ***** (mates) an autorickshaw, you get a car like this.? Of course, some tortuous mind has also come up with the fact that this one is Aamir Khan?s dig at rival Shahrukh Khan, because SRK endorses the brand of car made fun of in the movie. But that, wethinks, could be a bit of a stretch?

The man once revered for films like Satya and Company now seems to spend most of his time being tactless and often insulting There was a time when people wondered who Ramgopal Varma was and how he managed to make such interesting films. Very few who knew him well?and then one day his prot?g?s - Anurag Kashyap, Manoj Bajpai, et al - started getting vocal about his twisted mind. There were rumours that Ramu would ask his discoveries - Manoj Bajpai and music director Sandeep Chowta - to work for free or for mere peanuts. Gradually his loyalists started moving away; some of them did pretty well for themselves - Kashyap and Shimit Amin being prime examples. Over the years RGV?s filmography started looking like a list of disasters......

Many in the industry wrote him off. But then he struck back, with a film called Sarkar, his version of The Godfather. It helped him regain some of his lost glory, but more disasters followed, until he came back with a sequel. As a media-wary person, not much was known about RGV. All those rumours are actually true?in bits, at least. Especially the one we heard about Kalki Koechlin not being a part of La Tomatina festival in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Surely you know about that one? About how upset Kalki is that her part has been cut out of the tomato sequence? That she had also thrown tomatoes around with a lot of enthusiasm, only to learn later that the segment with her in it was not going to be used? The buzz is that the actor is so miffed that she decided not to promote the film! But apparently that?s not true. Not if you believe Zoya Akhtar, anyway. The lady who has scripted and directed ZNMD says there was never any question of cutting out Kalki. Why? ?Kalki is an interesting, edgy actress. I sawDev.D and her other film, That Girl in Yellow Boots ? that?s not yet released here. She is superb. But in ZNMD, she doesn?t come in till after the tomato sequence. So since she is not there anyway, how could I cut her out?? We can?t beat that logic. For now. Especially since Kalki has spoken about the experience of La Tomatina and how tough it was. Salman-Akshay eye Kamal's Michael Madana Kama Rajan

According to sources, Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are fighting for the remake rights of Kamal Haasan's comedy entertainer Michael Madana Kama Rajan (MMKR). In Michael Madana Kama Rajan, which redefined the comedy genre in Tamil cinema, Kamal Haasan played four different roles: Micheal, Madan, Kama and Rajan. The film narrated a series of interesting events in the life of a quadruplets separated just after birth. The movie was directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao; Kamal had also written and produced it.

The latest buzz is that film maker Farah Khan (of Om Shanti Om fame) is planning to remake the film with Salman Khan, while director Priyadarshan wants to rope in Akshay Kumar for the same film.

Now it would be interesting to see who will play the lead role in Hindi!

Aamir Khan plans campaign against child malnutrition

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan Monday met Women and Child Development Minister Krishna Tirath to discuss his plans for a campaign against child malnutrition.

Speaking to IANS after the meeting, the actor whose recent film ?Delhi Belly? has done very well commercially, said: ?We are launching this campaign with the aim of reaching each and every child in the country. I will be the face of the campaign.?

?There are four very important steps that we are going to cover in this campaign. Starting right from the time when the baby is in the womb of the mother, where the feeding of the mother is the most important, to the time the child?s feeding includes not only breast feeding, but also natural food,? he said.

A ministry official said that Aamir met the minister along with his creative team, led by lyricist Prasoon Joshi.

?He made a presentation on his concept and how he plans to spearhead the campaign on arousing consciousness among people about ill effects of malnutrition and prevent children from the trap of malnutrition,? the official said.

Aamir said: ?I am an entertainer when I am acting in a film and I am a social person when I am associated with an issue like this.?

Shahrukh Khan to undergo knee surgery in Mumbai

Actor Shahrukh Khan has cancelled his plans of going abroad for his knee surgery. Deciding on spending some quality time with his family and meanwhile, looking after the Ra.One promotions closely, Shahrukh will undergo his knee surgery in Mumbai?s Breach Candy Hospital tentatively on July 25.

Dr. Ali Irani, a sports medicine specialist and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's personal medical consultant, will be leading the medical team, which will operate on King Khan?s knee. It is expected that Shahrukh Khan will recover his knee pain in over one month.

A few years back, Dr Ali Irani had performed a surgery on Shahrukh?s shoulder and the actor is doing absolutely fine with his shoulders. Therefore Shahrukh decided upon Dr. Irani for his knee surgery. A doctor informed that currently they are working on the procedure of the surgery that King Khan will go through.

Will 'Ra. One' meet Shahrukh's vision of a superhero film?

Now that 'Ra. One' is just about 100 days away from release, one wonders whether Anubhav Sinha, the film's director, is scared of all the expectations from the Shahrukh Khan starrer.

"Why should I be scared? And frankly, I don't really care about what others have to say. You tell me, would the film have managed such curiosity even a year before it's release? This is the reason why I keep telling the younger film makers that every opportunity has a potential pitfall but one should not be scared about picking it up on way", philosophises Anubhav.

The man could well be hailed as the director of the biggest film ever made in the history of Indian cinema. But then there is a big 'if' hanging behind it all. After all such accolades would come only 'if the film indeed lives up the expectations', 'if is does justify the mega hype that has been built around it', 'if it does meet Shahrukh Khan's vision of how a superhero film should be', 'if it indeed has been made in a peaceful and amicable manner between the producer and the director' and 'if all the mega bucks spent in the making actually show on screen'.

"Well, I am aware of all the 'if-s' coming my way and more than happy to be grilled and face all volleys with my chin up", smiles Anubhav before proceeding with yet another hectic month ahead that would be occupied with VFX supervision.

Producer Salman's Triumph: Tax Free 'Chillar Party'?

Salman Khan is one helluva pleased producer. Chillar Party, his premier production alongside UTV, will reportedly bag the honour of entertainment tax exemption.

Producer Khan (Salman Khan Being Human Productions) reportedly flew down from Patiala where he was filming for Bodyguard to attend a special screening that he'd served up for Information & Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni, who took a real shine to the kiddie centric flick. Apparently, he managed to convince Soni that his film was hugely entertaining and also carried a strong moral message.

Courtesy Khan's efforts, the I& B Ministry has issued letters of recommendation to all the Indian states to exempt 'Chillar Party' from entertainment tax.

A delighted Vikas Bahl, the film's co director is quoted to have said, "It is all due to Salman Khan's endeavours and he was very keen to make our film tax free. All of us including Salman are happy with the decision and we are now hoping that the tax free status now comes through for Chillar Party. The tax free status will make the film readily accessible to more people."

Salman Khan to come face-to-face with a tiger for Sher Khan..

Now, this could be a veritable test of Salman Khan?s true grit. Brother Sohail Khan wants to put Salman Khan face-to-face with a real tiger while shooting his film Sher Khan.

Since the film touches upon the subject of wild life and the poaching of animals, it will be shot in the forests of Thailand with real animals. Sohail will also rely on visual effects and animatronics for many scenes.

Sohail Khan explains that a trained tiger will be hired for many scenes with Salman Khan. For the shots that require Salman?s close-up with the tiger, special effects will be used to create the tiger. For wide-angle shots, the real tiger will be used.

So far only the first draft of the film?s script is ready. Sohail says work is now underway on the storyboard after which he will take the call if the film should be made in 3D, as proposed, or not.

The actress, who had earlier appeared in an item number with Shah Rukh Khan in Billu is all set to sway her sexy self for an item number in Priyadarshan?s forthcoming film Tezz, starring Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Kangna Ranaut.

If all goes well, Priyanka Chopra will be doing her first solo item number in the Ratan Jain produced venture later this year. The actress had stated in a media interview in late 2010, ?I have never done one (item number), and I don?t think I will be doing one either.?

But with item numbers being the talking points in films these days, the actress seems to have changed her mind. ?She will soon hear the song. Ratan Jain, the producer has spoken to her secretary and Priyanka has shown keen interest in the item song as well,? revealed a source, talking about the dance number in Tezz, which might be the actress? first ever solo item song.

The song in question has been composed by Sajid-Wajid. A source close to the film, ?Priyanka?s dance in Tezz will be as sexy as Malaika Arora Khan?s Munni act in Dabangg and Katrina Kaif?s Sheila in Tees Maar Khan.?

Katrina Kaif edits Shahrukh Khan?s Don 2

Katrina Kaif has always had a long-standing desire of contributing in some way to a film?s post-production. Well, her wish has been fulfilled, thanks to Farhan Akhtar.

Katrina and Farhan became friends while filming for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. She was particularly impressed by Farhan?s multiple talents: he is an actor, he has already directed a few films, and he can sing. Katrina, too, wanted to try her hand at something other than acting; Farhan helped fulfil that wish.

While editing Shahrukh Khan?s next film Don 2, which Farhan has directed, Farhan let Katrina edit a small portion.

Katrina did well and edited the portion and was ?thrilled? after having done so.

Hope she did not chop Priyanka?s part!

Hrithik Roshan: I am too emotional

Turning to television for the first time Hrithik Roshan is on a high these days. He is not only having a great time judging the dance reality show, Just Dance, but is also very excited about his next film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

How is TV different as a medium?
TV is an entirely different platform. Films are something I am used to. But television is a different thing. I am still nervous about how I will come across as a judge and if I really deserve to be a judge of such a show.
But the people have been really nice and I hear the TRP has touched 4.1, which is fantastic. I don't really think the TRPs have anything to do with my presence on the show. It is a privilege to be a part of this show.

Is it true that you learnt sign language to communicate with one of the participants' mother?
Oh yes. This boy comes from a family where his parents and sister are deaf and dumb. But if you see this guy, he is such a confident, well brought up child. Coming from such a background, he could have easily taken the wrong path. I wanted to thank the mother for bringing him up so well. And I wanted to speak to her in her language. So I learnt the sign language for half a day so that I could compliment her personally.

How good a judge would you say you are?
I am not sure. The first time I had to eliminate, there were these two girls and I had to ask them to go. I went and hugged them and I felt so emotional when I saw them crying that then I asked the organisers if we can give them another chance. They asked me to shut up. (Laughing) So I am not really sure how good I am as a judge.

How have your sons reacted to your show?
They start dancing the moment the signature tune comes on.

Your next Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara... did it take you back to those carefree bachelor days?
We all huddled together and took the road trip, and it felt like we three friends are actually taking the road trip, with a camera crew just filming us. Not really the bachelor kind of freedom, but it inspires me to take more road trips. Probably, the next one with my family. In fact, Sussanne was so excited about this concept. She was the one who loved the script and got me to sign this film.

So would you say Sussanne is more adventurous than you are?
I think so.

And you also sing in the film...
Well, I was tricked. They didn't tell me that they are going to record the song. They said it is just rehearsals and while I was thinking I am rehearsing the song, they recorded a good part of it and used it in the film.

You don't have a day off till October. Aren't you worried about burn out?
I might. But I am trying to take care, by getting at least six hours of sleep and eating healthy. I have always done one film at a time and here I am, doing three things at once.

Katrina Kaif not comfortable talking about liplock with Hrithik Roshan

Katrina Kaif isn?t really known to kiss her co-stars in films. But she made an exception for director Zoya Akhtar?s film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara in which she has locked lips with Hrithik Roshan.

Recently, while promoting the film on a news channel, Katrina was in a fix when suddenly asked about the liplock with Hrithik. The answer she gave was outright evasive.

?I wouldn?t necessarily answer that question, because I don?t believe there is any need to sensationalize anything like that (the kiss)...I loved the script of the film....I really think it?s a nice film...I have seen the film and I think it?s a very special film and I think people are going to enjoy every part of the film,? Katrina answered.

However, when asked about her chemistry with Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif had all the good things to say about the actor.

?He?s an amazing actor. Initially I was slightly intimidated by him. I didn?t know him before, He?s not the kind who would pat you on the back and joke around. But after a while, (I saw) he is a really really nice soul, really really gentle person, and so talented. I mean he?s an amazing actor and (it?s amazing) to just watch him work and see what he does. So I think we had a good time and if people are saying that we are looking good together, that?s what we wanted,? Katrina replied.

'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' has Katrina Kaif playing a diving instructor. She learnt sea diving for her role.
