Salman Khan training Katrina Kaif for ?Dhoom 3?!
Katrina Kaif is shooting for Yashraj?s Ek Tha Tiger, but she?s also concentrating on her look for Dhoom 3, and guess who is her guide this time? None other than her best friend Salman Khan!
Thankfully, Katrina is not out of shape, but workouts are still essential for her as she is the hot chic of Dhoom 3, and the onus of raising the oomph quotient of the film lies on her tender shoulders. Ever since she has been confirmed for the film, much has been said about her donning a bikini. While there?s no confirmation about Kat sporting a two-piece, sources claim that she will definitely be seen showing off her hot body in the film.
?She may or may not be wearing a bikini, but she will need to look her toned best, as the franchise is high on the ultra-glam looks of the actors as well,? the source is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
So, what Salman Khan has to suggest her? As Katrina is shooting with Salman, the actor is in continuous touch with her. It?s said that Salman has advised Katrina to cycle and swim regularly to tone up without hitting the gym to get that fit fab body.
Dhoom 3 has Aamir Khan playing the baddie. The third instalment of the series would go on floors by December 2011 and is planned for a Christmas 2012 release.

At 38 and pregnant, Aishwarya Rai still dazzling Bollywood and beyond
Last Tuesday, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turned 38. Older than the average Bollywood heroine, Rai has managed to prove she's still widely popular and capable of driving plenty of hype.
Rai's pregnancy has been the subject of tons of media hype since before it actually happened. Pregnancy rumors and speculation have flown around ever since her 2007 marriage to Abhishek Bachchan, and the Bollywood world erupted with joy once father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan announced a confirmed pregnancy via Twitter this June. Proving Rai's worldwide recognition ? Time magazine named her one of the world's most influential people in 2004 ? even non-Bollywood and non-Indian news sources carried the buzz.
Now that the pregnancy is out, abundant attention ? of Hollywood baby-hype proportions mostly unknown to Bollywood ? has focused on Rai, her baby bump and how (and whether) having a child will limit her work as many Bollywood actresses slow down or even give up acting after becoming mothers.
The will-it-won't-it debate focusing on the impact on Rai's career has highlighted the fact that she's outlasted many other actresses in similar situations. Whether Rai keeps up a vibrant and prolific career post-baby is yet to be seen, but if her track record is any indicator, she'll stubbornly continue to dazzle on-camera for years to come.

Rajinikanth-Aamir Khan join hands for a noble cause
Superstar Rajinikanth, who has recovered from his illness, shared screen space with Shahrukh Khan in recently released film Ra.One. Now, the superstar will be joining hands with yet another actor from the Bollywood. Yes, the Tamil actor is teaming up with Aamir Khan but not for a film rather for a noble cause!
It is well-known that Rajinikanth often comes forward to lend his helping hand for the needy. This time, the superstar has given his approval for the government's (Govt.) promotional activity against malnutrition. Along with Aamir Khan, the Endhiran star will participate in the awareness program.
According to reports, the Govt. has planned an awareness ad campaign. It is an initiative to eradicate the malnutrition and spread awareness about it. Hence, it has approached the most popular stars of the Indian cinema, reports add.
The superstars will participate in the promotional activities, which will be held throughout the country. However, Rajinikanth, who has not done any commercial till date, agreed to do the ads, as it is for the social cause. It may be recalled that the actor had done a similar kind of promotions in the 80s for the eradication of polio.

Dhoom 3: How Katrina Kaif is going to heat things up
Ever since actor Katrina Kaif has been confirmed for Dhoom 3, there has been much speculation about her donning a bikini for the film, as had the actresses in the previous two installments. But while, there?s no confirmation about Kat sporting the bikini avatar, insiders do reveal that she will definitely be seen showing off her a super-toned hotbod in the film. Katrina is well aware of it, but since she has been rushing from one film to another, she has little or no time left to actually concentrate on her work-outs.
According to a source, Katrina has been so busy that she has not even had time to enjoy the successes of her own recent films including Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
?She has been shooting back to back since the past several months now. But her role in Dhoom 3 requires her to look her fittest best and so she?s started working out during her outdoor schedules itself,? says the source.
However, an insider reveals that she is into light exercising and not heavy training. ?Katrina wants to tone up her body for Dhoom 3, and luckily for her she is already in good shape. She anyways hates vigorous workouts or starving herself to acquire a lean body or look sexy, so she is just exercising regularly and going in for a healthy diet instead.?
The B-Town hottie had apparently started to work on her bod right when she was shooting with Salman Khan for Ek Tha Tiger in Dublin. ?There too she would exercise regularly, eat loads of fruits on time, instead of starving herself and she has also been drinking a lot of water. She is trying her best to catch up on sleep as well,? informs the source, adding that apparently she has also been getting a lot of tips from Salman on the same. ?Yes, Salman has advised Katrina to cycle and swim to tone up without hitting the gym to get an overall lean and well-toned body,? says the source.
According to an insider, ?From now to that film, she is unlikely to get any time off for herself anyway, as soon after she wraps up Ek Tha Tiger, she?s expected to begin work on her film with Shah Rukh Khan,? says a source.
Interestingly, the film ? which also stars Aamir Khan as the baddie ? will be her fifth movie with Aditya Chopra?s production house.
?She?s become quite a favourite with the production house as she?s been signed on for four back-to-back films with them. Her professionalism of not letting her personal life interfere with her professional one is what seems to work in her favour too,? says an industry observer.

Katrina Kaif to shed weight for 'Dhoom 3'?
The bikini boogey has not really been exorcised out of Katrina Kaif's presence in Dhoom 3. Though she has convinced producer Aditya Chopra that the bikini is not essential for the scene where she was supposed to flaunt one, the issue is far from resolved.
Apparently the core team of Dhoom 3 continued to persuade the actress to take forward the tradition of bikini-clad leading ladies in the flick.
Says a source, "Though Katrina signed on the dotted line for Dhoom 3 only on condition that the bikini sequence be removed, they reluctantly removed the bikini. But the question of what she wears in lieu of the skimpy apparel has only now been resolved."
For the sequence, Katrina would now be wearing shorts and a suitable top.
Says the source, "Aditya Chopra and director Vijay Krishna Acharya were not willing to do away with the sequence where Katrina was to be seen in beach wear.
The sequence was to be shot on an exotic beach. After she said no to wearing a two-piece, there was talk of doing away with that sequence altogether. But it is felt by the entire team that the beach location is lucky for the series.
Since Katrina is required for that sequence, her clothes have been suitable modified to go by her aesthetic comfort and the requirement of the sequence." Interestingly, her role requires her to be more lean and athletic than the present.
Says a source from Istanbul where she is shooting for Ek Tha Tiger, "Katrina has a round-the-clock trainer with her in Istanbul who is currently training her in the rudiments of the physical-type required. She gets into advanced training on her return."
Apparently Katrina's character in Dhoom 3 would be a mixture of Catwoman and Lara Croft, with a bit of Hema Malini from Seeta Aur Geeta thrown in." Katrina remained unavailable for comment.

Shahrukh Khan, Sharmila Tagore to inaugurate 17th Kolkata film fest
Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and yesteryear?s actress Sharmila Tagore will inaugurate the 17th Kolkata Film Festival (KFF) starting Nov 10, the organiser?s said.
Veteran actress Supriya Devi will be the guest of honour at the inaugural.
Bengali movie star Koel Mullick will be the thali girl for the opening, her father and KFF chairperson actor Ranjit Mullick said here.
?The opening film will be ?The Magican? by Holland?s Joram Lursen,? he added.
There are many firsts attached to 17th KFF ? for the first time, the eight-day fest, concluding Nov 17, would have a competitive section, a big dash of Bollywood glamour, screenings at a multiplex and inaugural event at the Netaji indoor stadium instead of the Nandan Film Complex, which has been the nerve centre of the event since its inception in 1995.
It would also be the first time that former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, the moving force behind the festival till last year, would not be a part of the gala after beign voted out of power in the state assembly polls.
The fest will see screening of 150 movies, a heady mix of socio-communicational values and popular entertainment, from 50 countries.
As many as 12 Asian films would vie for honours for the NETPAC Award in the newly introduced competitive section.
The notable films include Jean-luc Godard?s 2010 release ?Film Socialisme?, Hungarian director Bela Tarr?s latest offering ?The Turin Horse?, which is shot in black and white as per, famed Iranian movie maker Abbas Kiarostami?s ?Certified copy?, and German mvoie ?The Faust? by director Alexandre Shokurov.
There will be a retrospective of Japanese director Shohei Imamura, while Turkish movie maker Nurri Bilge Ceylan will be attending the festival with a package of his creations.
The Artistes? Forum will hold a colourful programme tracing the journey of Bengali cinema on the closing day.
Bollywood filmmakers Anant Mahadevan, Ketan Mehta and Santosh Shivan are likely to attend the festival, the second oldest in India, being organised for the first time by the regime of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
A centenary tribute has been planned for Bollywood great Ashok Kumar, whose birth centenary is being celebrated this year. His famous film ?Kismet? will be shown.
Special tributes section features Bengal?s greatest matinee idol Uttam Kumar and noted director Mani Kaul.
Altogether 11 auditoria including the Fame Multiplex in South Kolkata will screen the movies.
?The festival has a budget of Rs 2.75 crore of which the state government is providing Rs.60 lakh. The major chunk comes from sponsorships,? said information and culture secretary Nandini Chakraborty.
The Calcutta-Kolkata section will showcase select feature films spanning six decades giving a wider window to understand the city.
In Celebrating 50 Years section, Ritwik Ghatak?s ?Komal Gandhar? and Ajoy Kar?s ?Saptapadi? ? both released in 1961 ? will be screened.

Shahrukh Khan becomes franchise owner for Mumbai i1 Super Series
Shahrukh Khan has partnered with KKR partners, the Mehta Group to buy Mumbai i1 Super Series, an all new motorsport racing league.
Shahrukh has become Mumbai franchise owners for the i1 Super Series. The i1 Super Series is being initiated by Machdar Motorsports. In the i1 Super Series, scheduled to kickstart in January 2012, nine teams representing nine different cities from various parts of the city will be competing against each other. Each team will have both an Indian and an International driver.
Shahrukh Khan's entry in the i1 Super Series is a boost for the the championship. Speaking about his involvement, SRK said, ?I have always tried to develop sports in the country in any way possible and we have recently taken a very professional approach to expanding our interests in various sports entertainment categories. The concept is similar to the IPL and I am confident that in the years to come this can become one of the biggest motorsport events in the world.?

"I am not a superstar to get a release on Eid, Diwali or Christmas" - Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor wants to play humble and being honest. Even as euphoria continues to build around Rockstar and one waits to see whether the young actor along with director Imtiaz Ali indeed manage to create the kind of magic on screen which is expected out of them, Ranbir is willing to acknowledge that he is not (yet) a superstar that some around him want him to believe. This stems from the fact that he is still awaiting a fixed slot for arrival of his films on festive occasions, something that the top superstars in Bollywood have already staked their claim on.
"Salman Khan has made Eid his own and next year with Ek Tha Tiger he would make it four in a row after Wanted, Dabangg and Bodyguard. Aamir Khan always likes to reserve Christmas for him (Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini, 3 Idiots). Shahrukh Khan has a Diwali fixation (this year it was Ra. One while next year it would be Yash Chopra's yet untitled version). Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty like coming on Diwali as well (case in point being their last two Golmaal installments and All The Best) while Akshay Kumar too aspires for Diwali or Christmas", says a trade expert, "A superstar status is pretty much established from this very fact that audience expect your film to arrive at a certain expected date."
Though this can be pretty much expected from veterans, of late even youngsters have started picking and choosing their lucky arrival timelines. This is most evident in case of Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma who are pretty much hand picking a date and getting it too.
"Imran feels that Summer season is the best for his films and hence most of his films release in the month of July", a source adds, "Whether it is Delhi Belly, I Hate Luv Storys or Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Naa, each of them has arrived in July. On the other hand Anushka's hit run has continued with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Band Baaja Baarat releasing in second week of December and the same has been planned for Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl."
In this context, the only other major young celebrity who is yet to have a fixed arrival time for his films is Ranbir Kapoor. In fact his Rockstar too saw quite a few changes in its release arrival over last few months before zeroing in on 11/11/11. Though this is indeed a special date, Ranbir insists that it wasn't planned this way.
On quizzed, he says in a humble tone, "Guess we got lucky to get even this date. See, I am not a superstar to get a release on Eid, Diwali or Christmas so I better be happy with the best that I get."

Akshay Kumar: I'm proud to be Desi
Surprising and exciting his fans with his recent decision to speak, "Only or at least mostly in Hindi," Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has decided to proudly wear his desi avatar on his sleeve.
Confirms Akshay, "I'm proud to be Desi. I'm a desi boy from Delhi and I'm very proud of who I am and I am proud of my roots. My fans love me for being desi, being humble, being hard working. They love me for speaking to them in their language; they connect with me because I remind them of their roots. So as a rule, I've decided to be myself."
The actor also has no qualms in admitting that 'Hindi' as a language is something he is more comfortable conversing in. Says Akshay, "After all, we're Hindi film stars. We earn our bread and butter from Bollywood... I'm uncomfortable talking in English. I've always been! I've realized my fans love the dialogues I say on screen. And those are in Hindi. Why speak in a language your are not comfortable in? After all success is about being comfortable in your own skin and I'm finally doing that."

I'm uncomfortable talking in English: Akshay
Unlike other Bollywood celebrities, who prefer to converse in English, Bollywood's desi boy Akshay Kumar says he is more comfortable talking in Hindi.
"After all, we're Hindi film stars. We earn our bread and butter from Bollywood. I'm uncomfortable talking in English..I've always been," Akshay said in a statement.
"I've realized my fans love the dialogues I say on screen. And those are in Hindi. Why speak in a language your are not comfortable with? After all success is about being comfortable in your own skin and I'm finally doing that," he added.
The actor, who is now gearing up for the release of his new film Desi Boyz with John Abraham, calls himself "desi" and says he is proud of his roots.
