Shahrukh wants Priyanka for 2 States

There is no dearth of Tamil actresses in Bollywood but filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and actor Shahrukh Khan have reportedly pinned down on Priyanka Chopra to play the role of a Tamilian in the adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's 2 States. They are convinced that she could pull off the role of a south Indian girl well.

It was earlier reported that Shahrukh had put 2 States on hold, as he thought only a new face could fit into the role and that Priyanka is too familiar to the film lovers. However, he seems to have a change of heart, convincing both producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Vishal that the actress could pull off the character well. He has even reportedly told the actress to sign the film.

Well, it will be interesting to see a Punjabi girl playing the role of a South Indian girl. 2 States is expected to take off by the end of next year (2012).

Hrithik Roshan?s show 'Just Dance' opens below expectations

Hrithik Roshan?s much awaited debut on TV with the reality show ?Just Dance? has failed to garner impressive telly ratings but is expected to fare better in the coming days and weeks.

According to data released by Television rating agency aMap, Hrithik?s show ?Just Dance? opened with the TVR of 3.1 on Saturday. The rating is below expectations because for the first time Star India telecasted a show simultaneously on a number of channels including Star One, Star Plus and Star Pravah.

Even when compared to other TV shows hosted by Bollywood celebrities, the TVR of ?Just Dance? isn?t impressive. For instance, Amitabh Bachchan?s show ?Kaun Banega Crorepati 4? opened with TVR of 5.0 last year. Even Shahrukh Khan?s flop show ?Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? garnered the TVR of 3.5.

However, not to be ignored is the fact that the opening show of ?Just Dance? focussed on the selection of the contestants. As the show progresses and the competition hots up, the rating are expected to go high.

Well, at least Hrithik Roshan would be hoping so.

Abhishek Bachchan wants a baby girl from Aishwarya Rai

Ever since the news of Aishwarya Rai?s pregnancy hit the headlines, people have been speculating what the gender of the child might be. Abhishek Bachchan has expressed his wish for a baby girl.

Going by the buzz on chat forums, it seems majority of people are hoping for a girl because Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan too had a girl (Shweta) first and then a boy (Abhishek). While that is a far-fetched guess, Abhishek himself has made explicit that he hopes for a girl child.

A fan asked Abhishek on his Twitter page: ?Do you know the gender or want to keep it a surprise?? Abhishek responded: ?hope it?s a girl?

Meanwhile, there has also been a rumour that Aishwarya Rai might be expecting twins.

SRK feels excited to give parenting tips to Abhishek Bachchan

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is a proud father of two children, says he would love to give parenting tips to would-be-dad Abhishek Bachchan.

Shah Rukh said through his Twitter.com post: "papa (Abhishek) i am so excited for u...really happy. we need to get together soon and i will give u some tips on bringing up lil ones (sic).?

Not taking much time, Abhishek replied to SRK by writing: ?looking forward to it shah! Thank you and take good care of your knees.?

The superstar's knee is acting smart. King Khan's arrival is being awaited at the 12th IIFA awards and he asures his presence at the ceremony, irrespective of the persistent problem in knee.

?In hospital getting my knee taped up. feeling awful not being fully fit for iifa...as is attending after so many years. sweet guys wizandre and team...will try and do my best. toronto, knee or not here I come,? he further posted.

Shah Rukh will be performing at IIFA after a gap of seven years.

Katrina Kaif outshining all other actresses, has finally been roped in as the leading lady in the Yashraj Film Dhoom 3.

The movie is full on action packed with Aamir Khan playing the baddie, escaping from inspector Jai (Abhishek Bachchan) and his sidekick Ali (Uday Chopra).

Well, now that the sweet and charming Katrina Kaif has bagged the prestigious role, she will have to undergo a through make over to fit into her character. Buzz also has it that the actress will have to don a bikini for the film.

Looks like after Anushka Sharma, it?s Katrina Kaif who is the Yashraj banner?s favorite girl. After ?New York?, Kats has just got done with Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and is currently shooting for Ek Tha Tiger. There?s also an untitled YRF film with Shahrukh Khan.

Initially, rumors had it that Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu were also approached for the leadi role in the flick. However, it is Katrina who clinched it.

Salman Khan shot a humourous promo for his production, ?Chillar Party? like Aamir did for ?Delhi Belly?

Salman Khan seems to be learning a lot from his friend Aamir Khan, especially with respect to the craft that Aamir excels in: film promotion. Aamir, producer of ?Delhi Belly? had shot a promo with the lead cast of the film, Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunaal which created a lot of uproar. So, now Salman has decided to follow the same to promote his film, ?Chillar Party?.

In the Delhi Belly promo, Aamir gets into a dialogue with the lead trio about the film and similarly Salman also gets into humorous dialogue with the kids around the film. Salman Khan?s signature style has been to remove his t-shirt as he has famously done so in most of blockbuster films. And the actor-turned-producer does the same in this cute and funny promo he shot for Chillar Party that he?s rumoured to have written as well.

The kids in the film were only too excited to see their favourite actor, Salman, shed his shirt and joined him by removing their shirts too. The promos feature Salman having a light-hearted conversation with the kids in the film whose characters names are Encyclopedia to Jhangia, Akram, Secondhand, Panauti, Silencer, Aflatoon, Shaolin and Fatka.

Salman Khan congratulates Aishwarya-Abhishek

?I would like to congratulate Abhishek and Aishwarya,? Salman told the reporters at an event, where he and he Chillar Party gang launched a Blackberry application. The actor in his usual humourous mood told that he hopes the couple makes a whole football team. Adding more to his wishes, Salman declared himself as chacha (uncle) of the soon-to-be born baby. He congratulated Amitabh Bachchan on becoming a grandfather.

Aishwarya and Salman shared a love relationship, back in 1999. A few years later they parted ways. Aishwarya then dated Vivek Oberoi for a while, when she actually found her true love in Abhishek Bachchan. The couple got married on April 20, 2007.

Salman Khan to shoot Yash Raj film in Iraq

Salman Khan is said to be filming a segment of new project Ek Tha Tiger in Iraq.

The Yash Raj Productions film will be the first Bollywood production to shoot in the country, the Hindustan Times reports.

The Iraqi government is said to have arranged security for the crew and granted permission for the production house to film in the region.

Khan's co-star and reported former girlfriend Katrina Kaif will not be travelling to Iraq, as she is not required for these particular scenes.

Director Kabir Khan plans to shoot an extended action sequence in the country, capitalising on the acclaim that Khan received for the action portions of Dabangg.

The 2006 YRF project Kabul Express, featuring John Abraham and Arshad Warsi, was partly filmed in Afghanistan.

Bollywood director Suresh Kohli recently announced plans to make a film about former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

Salman Khan extends the olive branch to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Bollywood Dabangg star and Aishwarya Rai?s ex flame, Salman Khan conveyed his best wishes to the soon-to-be parents Ash and Abhi, while unveiling a Blackberry application at an event, recently.

Letting bygones be bygones, Sallu in his usual happy-go-lucky mood congratulated the star couple, declaring himself the ?Chacha? too.

?I congratulate Abhishek and Aishwarya. I wish they have 7 kids. I hope they make a cricket team with extras,? Salman told the reporters at the event.

?I have become a Chacha, and I also congratulate Mr Amitabh Bachchan on becoming a grandfather,? further added the ?Dabangg? Khan.

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai have always avoided each other, ever since their break up. But now, since Aish is happily married and Sallu has moved on in life, the star wants to patch up with the Bachchan family.

Shah Rukh Khan to tour 'Ra One' with Akon?

Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly planning an international tour featuring the singer Akon to promote the upcoming Ra One.

Akon sings the track 'Chammak Challo' on the soundtrack of the sci-fi superhero film.

"The Ra One team will perform in the UK and US, and Akon might accompany them there. He's already been approached for the tour," a source told The Times of India.

They added that the tour will see the entire cast performing, including Kareena Kapoor.

Shah Rukh Khan and Akon have become good friends since working on the film's music together.

The Senegalese singer reportedly secured his first Bollywood role in a film recently, but has refused to disclose anything about the project.

SRK wants to give the soon-to-be parents, parenting tips..

The entire Bollywood family is overjoyed by the news that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are expecting their first joy of bundle.

One actor who personally congratulated both Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan on the good news was SRK. To Abhishek, Shahrukh tweeted: ?@juniorbachchan papa i am so excited for u?really happy. we need to get together soon and i will give u some tips on bringing up lil ones.?

The superstar is presently headed to Toronto for the IIFA 2011. Since Shahrukh Khan is returning to IIFA after seven years he is excited about performing at the awards function on June 25, but his knee has not been in good shape.

Before leaving for Toronto, Shahrukh got his knee examined at a hospital.

Preity Zinta taking over Aishwarya Rai role?

Preity Zinta is said to be replacing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Raj Kumar Santoshi's Ladies and Gentlemen.

Rai Bachchan, whose pregnancy was announced earlier this week, was originally approached to work opposite husband Abhishek Bachchan in the comedy, The Times of India reports.

"The fact that Aishwarya and Abhishek are going to be parents is far more important than anything to do with my film. The nature of the part that she was playing no longer suits her," said Santoshi.

Zinta, who has been largely absent from the film industry since 2008, is now being linked to the role by the media.

Santoshi, however, has denied that he is looking for a replacement for the former Miss World.

"It's a project that I've written specially for her. The role cannot be played by anyone else. I will start it as soon as she is ready," he said.

The Bachchans have appeared together in a number of films including Guru, Dhoom 2 and last year's Raavan.

Rai Bachchan told Digital Spy last year that she wanted to "bring a different Aishwarya" to her audiences with each release.

Aishwarya Rai is off on her maternity leave?

Aishwarya Rai?s pregnancy has put filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV in a fix. The pregnancy news which is a very very good news to the film industry is not real gone down well with the makers of Ash?s forthcoming flick, Heroine.

Ash?s role in the film is supposed to be that of a sexy superstar at the helm of her career. But this is not possible anymore. The makers have thus decided to put their venture on hold for a while.

?Soon after Madhur heard about Aishwarya?s pregnancy, he called the producers and they decided to meet. So, director Madhur Bhandarkar and the producers Ronnie Srewvala and Siddharth Roy Kapoor met up at around 4pm on Wednesday.

While the producer UTV has still not declared it officially, the buzz is that Madhur has decided to stall the shoots for the film,? revealed a source.

Say?s the source, ?No one, including herself knew about the pregnancy. She wuld never have started shooting for the film otherwise,?

In fact Madhur was surprised to hear about the pregnancy. ?He was hoping that Ash would be able to shoot the film, but that is unlikely now. What they have already shot are portions where she needed to look older. The next schedule required Ash to lose weight and also dance, which obviously is not possible now.

The final call will however, be taken in another meeting scheduled in a couple of days,? added the source.

The film that had gone on floors barely a fortnight back, was initially supposed to be completed within 60 days.

Delhi Belly initially offered to Ranbir Kapoor

Contrary to his chocolate boy image, Imran Khan is treading a different path with his uncle's production venture Delhi Belly, an adult film with a liberal dose of comedy. Interestingly, he landed the role, initially offered to Ranbir Kapoor, after a couple of screen tests.

When Ranbir opted out, the hunt for another actor started, which finally ended with the 28-year-old Imran passing muster.

"Initially almost every young actor in the industry was approached for the role and so was Ranbir. But it didn't work out with anyone. The process of getting on board was very long. Everyone gave a screen test. I myself gave about four screen tests and then I got it," Imran told in an interview.

Imran hit the bull's eye when he was launched by his uncle Aamir Khan in 2008 with puppy love story Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and after that he featured in candyfloss films I Hate Luv Storys and Break Ke Baad. He tried to show his serious and macho side in Kidnap and Luck but not with much success at the box office.

Aamir has so far made clean family entertainers; so Delhi Belly is a daring step and Imran was keen to do it because the "moment I read the script, I knew I had to be a part of it".

"It was a kind of script that comes along maybe once in your lifetime. It was a film that honestly I thought no one would make in India. So I was quite surprised with the fact that someone has managed to put it together so well," he added.

Adman-turned-director Abhinay Deo decided to translate Akshat Verma's story for grown-ups on to celluloid about three friends who coincidentally land up in a trouble. The other two friends are played by Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapoor.

In fact, Aamir warned his fans at the unveiling of the film's first look that it was not meant for children.

Supporting his uncle's stance, Imran said: "You cannot mislead the audience. You cannot play with them. We certainly did not want a situation where people were coming for the film with their kids and they would be shocked and feel cheated by us.

"We wanted to be honest. If you lie to the audience, they will always remember it and hold it against you."

If Aamir felt the content is for adults, Imran thought the language used in the adult comedy is not suitable for children.

"It's largely because of the language. The film otherwise is an action caper and so there is some amount of violence but that is nothing really more than what we see in most films. It's largely because of the language that we want the kids to stay away from the film," said the actor.

Although Delhi Belly is releasing with Amitabh Bachchan's Bbuddha...Hoga Terra Baap on July 1, the actor is unperturbed by the competition from the megastar.

"My belief has always been that if a film is good, it's good and if a film is bad then even if the weekend is clear, it still won't work. So it depends on the film. Amitji naturally has a huge fan following and the promos of his film are looking very good but in no way does that mean that our film will not do well," Imran asserted.

Ranbir-Priyanka link-up stories continue?

Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra and the naughty Ranbir Kapoor, shared a strong chemistry, the last time they shared the screen in ?Anjaana Anjaani?. There were link up stories between the two. But despite the speculation the two maintained that they are just ?good buddies?

Says a source, ?The two had a five day schedule together. When the two met, they looked like they just picked up from where they had left off the last time around, just like any friends would. Another source close to the stars added that their busy schedules had kept them from staying in constant touch with each other. ?But both were happy to have met again. It?s just that unlike their last film, this time the nature of thefilm is quite serious, so the two didn?t joke around as much. The two are, however,looking forward to begin shooting together again in August, when Priyanka returns from the US,? added the source.

Incidentally, both Ranbir and Priyanka are making sure that they keep their private lives out of the limelight taking extra measures to ensure that they don?t get linked again. ?Both have been written about extensively for their past relationships and now the two only want to concentrate on their careers,? said a source.
