Nerve disorder pain was like electric shock: Salman Khan

Salman Khan was in pain for four years but competitive box office pressure combined with fans' expectations that have only grown since he delivered three back to back hits have forced Salman Khan to suppress a nerve disorder for four years.

The disarming attitude of superstar Salman Khan is visible once again. The acclaimed actor, who is currently taking rest after an eight hour long surgery for the nerve disorder called 'Trigeminal Neuralgia', is all set to resume shooting for his upcoming films. The actor has revealed that he was under severe pain since four years but did not disclose it due to the care for fans' concerns.

The protagonist of latest superhit Bodyguard said," I did not want people to know about the surgery as my fans get worried, but the news spread and everybody got concerned about how serious the ailment was."

Presently under the vigilance of doctors in New Jersey, USA, Salman Khan said, "The pain might go in six months or it may take three to four years, it depends. I will have to come back again for check-up."

The lead actor of forthcomings as Ek Tha Tiger and Sher Khan revealed the inception of the problem and said," The problem started while I was working on 'Partner' (2007). A part of my forehead used to pain, as if somebody had applied electric shock in the area. Gradually the pain extended to my cheek and then throughout the filming of 'Veer' my right jaw pained."

"Its a nerve problem called Trigeminal Neuralgia, which causes this pain. This nerve originates in the brain and is divided into three parts of the face", added Khan.

Salman Khan's next film Ek Tha Tiger is a Yash Raj Films production and is scheduled to hit the theaters next year. Sher Khan, a Sohail Khan film, is also waiting for his return to complete the shooting. (With additional information from PTI)

After surgery, Salman Khan to resume shooting in a week

Actor Salman Khan, who recently underwent a nerve surgery in the US, would resume shooting in a week's time, family sources said.

Salman, who has been suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia, a nerve disorder that causes intense pain in the face, had left for the US on August 29 and successfully underwent the first surgery two days later.

"He is much better now and has been advised to take rest before he starts shooting for 'Ek Tha Tiger'. Doctors are reviewing his health. This is not like you go for one sitting and it is done...hope all goes well," Salman's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri said.

"He should resume shooting by September 10," he added. Salman would head to South Africa to shoot for Yash Chopra's 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

The 'Dabangg' star has been suffering from the pain in his jaw since 2007 while shooting for 'Partner'. It got worse last year, following which, he decided to undergo a surgery.

Salman's recent release 'Bodyguard' is on a record breaking spree.

"He is updated every day about 'Bodyguard'. He is very much happy. This was an important release for him. He takes good and bad films in equal spirit," Atul said.

'Bodyguard', starring Salman and Kareena Kapoor was released on Eid and has surpassed the record of 'Dabangg' and 'My Name is Khan'.

Salman Khan's Bodyguard sprints to Rs 100 cr mark in Bollywood; beats Dabangg

Notwithstanding mixed reviews, Salman Khan's Bodyguard has given Bollywood its biggest weekend. The movie, released last Wednesday, has grossed an estimated Rs 86 crore in the first four days of its screening in India, thereby surpassing the opening week net collections of previous Bollywood blockbusters such as Dabangg and 3 Idiots.

While Salman-starrer Dabangg had netted an estimated Rs 81 crore at the Indian box office, Aamir's 3 Idiots had garnered Rs 80 crore during the first week of their release. Meanwhhile, Bodyguard's worldwide box office collections are estimated at Rs 110 crore, said film industry sources.

Sanjeev Lamba, Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Entertainment said, "Salman's superstardom, the special relationship he enjoys with his fans on Eid, the quality of the film, the multi-faceted marketing plan and the wide release have all combined to create a perfect storm." It will be the fastest film to net Rs 100 crore in India, he added.

Film trade analyst Komal Nahata said, "The movie has got mixed reviews, but Salman's fan following and the long weekend have worked very well for Bodyguard. Going by the highest opening day and weekend collections, it will become the highest grosser for the week at box office."

Another trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that the Sunday collections and occupancies are looking higher than Friday and Saturday. "The movie is expected to earn over Rs 85 crore at the Indian box office for the five-day extended weekend as net collections," he said.

Multiplexes say that the movie's occupancies have been strong with an average of 78-85%, and the movie has done well across big and small centers. Gautam Dutta, chief operating officer at PVR said, "Occupancies have been consistent on weekend, making it the biggest blockbuster for the industry."

In the overseas market, the movie has grossed $3.8 million so far, and is now set to become Salman's biggest overseas hit, beating Dabangg's $5 million.

Bodyguard ranked at 9 in the UK Top 10 at ?120k in 51 locations - just behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 which grossed ?122k in its 8th week. In the US, Bodyguard has grossed $1.6 million so far, according to reports.

The actor who is most famous for his signature moves and dancing capabilities had lot more than just a conversation with Preity. Both the fellow actors go a long way as Hrithik confides into the Preity little lesser known facts about himself and his journey so far.

Did Rana really replace Abhishek in DEPARTMENT?

Rana Daggubati is tired of being asked time and again about replacing Abhishek Bachchan in Ram Gopal Varma's DEPARTMENT. Though five months have passed by since Abhishek made way for him to step into a role that was originally written for him, Rana continues to respond to queries that revolve around this topic. No wonder, he is hardly amused anymore and feels that it is high time before media started speaking to him about his work than the so-called 'issue' of 'replacing' Abhishek.

Yes, Abhishek was originally supposed to be doing DEPARTMENT but then he had genuine date issues. Currently he is involved in so many other films. He is completing PLAYERS and then starting BOL BACHCHAN as well. This is when I came in. But then to think about it, you can't use the word 'replace' in any format whatsoever. After all he is so much senior to me and there is no way that someone who has just started off can even think of replacing him,' says Rana in an earnest tone.

Currently shooting in Mumbai for DEPARTMENT, Rana admits though that his prior association with Abhishek during their DUM MAARO DUM days made it comfortable for him to step into 'Department' without feeling too conscious about it.

"Abhishek and I have been very close to each other since we did DUM MAARO DUM together. We spent a lot of time together during the promotional visits as well. When Ramu offered me DEPARTMENT, I actually went and spoke to Abhishek so that we could clear things on a good note. In fact Abhishek himself advised me that I should go for it. This is when I gave my go ahead to Ramu," informs Rana while animatedly gesturing that this was perhaps the last time he was speaking on this topic.

His latest flick has got mixed reviews from critics, yet Salman Khan ?Bodyguard? hits a whopping Rs 100 cr mark, beating his earlier film Dabanng.

The film has made Rs 86 crore in just the first four days of its opening, in India. And adding the abroad collections, the figure surpasses the Rs. 100 crore mark.

Despite getting critical appreciation, Friday?s release, That Girl In Yellow Boots and Bol drew almost no crowd.

The coming Friday would see the release of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, starring Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif and Ali Zafar.

The dance floor cannot get any hotter!! Catch Hrithik and Shahid burn the floor!

Just imagine two dashing dudes and the best dancers of Bollywood, come together on one platform! Well, this actually happened. Shahid Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan shared the stage together on Hrithik Roshan?s dance reality show Just Dance.

Well, Shahid Kapoor was the guest off course, he was donned in a black kurta (the same Nagaada Nagaada avatar from Jab We Met), while Hrithik looked terrific in a designer shirt and gray trousers.

Apart from the regular posing together, the duo also gave poses of tribal look, donning dread locked hair wigs. They danced with the contestants too.

Post the show, Shahid Kapoor couldn?t stop praising Hrithik Roshan. he posted on twitter : ?Just finished just dance with @iHrithik ? The nicest guy n the best dancer I know?
