Mission Tiranga in Every Home !

?I Love My Tiranga? is an initiative started by Mumbai resident Khalid Qureshi to promote the Indian Tricolor Flag. He decided to run from Mumbai to New Delhi, a distance of over 1,900 km, carrying the Tiranga, to encourage, inspire and enthuse every Indian (as well as religious and educational institutions), to love the Tiranga, and proudly display it every day.

Profile

Khalid Qureshi is a Senior Ticket Checker at Western Railways. He has been the highest revenue earner in his department for 6 years. His father is also a retired Divisional Chief Ticket Inspector and has 2 other brothers working as Ticket Checker and another brother is a Commercial Clerk working in Western Railways. He stays with his family including wife, children, brothers and their family and parents. One day while he was discussing his and his family?s achievements and trophies at home, he realized that they had everything at home except a Tiranga. Two years ago, Khalid, conceived a bold vision, to popularize a cause very dear to his heart - Tiranga.

Why Tiranga at Home?

Khalid?s question to all Indians is ?Why is it that our flag is unfurled only when we win at cricket, or on national days, or during anti-corruption rallies? We should be proud to display it every day and not just wait for an occasion! We have all the luxuries and necessities at home but not Tiranga?

His initiative ?I Love My Tiranga? has been started with a mission to have a ?Tiranga in Every Home?.

As a representation of love and respect for our country, Indian Flag can be hoisted in every house. Tiranga stands for our Indian Culture, Charms, Truth, and Simplicity of our Country, Power, Unity and Energy. These values have to be inculcated in every child, youth and individual in India. Keeping Tiranga at home will build in character of every Indian.

Journey so far?..

Khalid started his run on 26th January, 2012 carrying the flag handed over to him by his parents at Gateway of India. On this day he visited Haji Ali, Mahim Church, Sanyas Ashram and Guruwara (Four Bunglow) and presented flags and received blessings. He halted at Andheri. Next day, he reached Borivli and was received by more than 50 senior citizens from Puspa Maa Foundation at Veer Savarkar Park. He was also blessed by other 120 senior citizens (IC Colony) who pledged to keep Tiranga at home. He started from Borivli on 28th January to reach Vasai. On 29th January, 9 cyclist from Borivli and 20 bikers from Vasai joined Khalid in the run. In the evening, he reached Manor for night halt. Next day (30th January), he reached Dahanu.

Mission Tiranga in Every Home

This initiative has been supported by many individuals and groups. He has also received support from Future Group. His Official Health, Fitness, Diet and Training Partner is Dr. Sheel from Fitness Factor Academy of Fitness Training.

Join Khalid to promote ?Tiranga in Every Home?.

Movie Aalaap event in Raipur !

The band takes to stage to promote a film on naxal issues and its only solution. Hint: Music

Star Cast : Amit Purohit, Aabid Shamim, Pitobash, Raghuvir Yadav, Onkardas Manikpuri, Rituparna Sengupta, Harsh Rajput and Murli Sharma.

Imagine this: A balmy evening at Raipur?s Pragati Maidan. A crowd of over 30,000, quietly gathering. The stage with his equipments all set to burst in action. Suddenly there?s a strum of a guitar, a low voice saying check. And then euphoria!

It was Agnee on stage! What transpired after that could only be called ?mass frenzy? for the lack of word. With all minds, ears and faces glued on stage, it looked very much a scene from ?Rockstar?. Only better. Mind you though, this was no ordinary rock concert, but a preview of the band?s compositions for a Hindi film, ?Aalaap?. Or as lead vocalist Mohan puts it: ?The emergence of Agnee?s real music?.

Amidst mass frenzy and fans asking for more, the band sung some of their favourite composition from the film including past hits like Sadho Re and Aahatein.

Co- produced by educationists Abhishek Mishra and Nishant Tripathi and directed by Manish Manikpuri, ?Aalaap? tells the story of the ever-increasing naxal issue in the country. Based in Chhattisgarh, the film through its storytelling visits the cold, dark recesses that force a common man to become gun trotting, fighting naxals.

Says co-producer Tripathi, ?Aalaap? is a baby of destiny. It was destined to be born now, amidst the current scenario of this state. The idea to do this film emerged from my love to do something for our state and for our society at large. I believe cinema is the only medium through which you can spread awareness to the widest possible audience and hope for change.?

However for director Manikpuri, a native of Bhilai, the film is more personal. Says the director, ?Even as a kid, I had this longing to travel to the naxal-infested areas, but was never allowed. My family was scared that I would never make out of the place alive. But that didn?t deter me as I continued dreaming that someday I will be able to go to such places and bring out the real truth.?

Manikpuri believes that naxal issue is the ?bitter reality we all are living in today, with no solution in sight.? But try hinting at ?Aalap ? as a possible solution and he says, ? ?Aalaap? isn?t a solution. We haven?t given guns to our heroes like it case of ?Rang De Basanti? and instructed them to kill. Our weapon here is music. When you put on music, people forget their worries and problems. And that?s the message of ?Aalaap?.?

film industry too. Not only the story but even the music of this film is made of a
different kind. ?Rock and Pop? style of the music has been used in the title song of
this film and it has been picturised over Ankush Chaudhari and Purva Pawar. The
lyrics of this film have been composed by Nitin Vashikar and Prasad-Adwait have
accorded the melodious music to the songs of this film with the gifted voices of

2012 Stardust Awards: Pics!

R. Madhavan with his wife, Sarita Birje. We love us some Maddy!

Holy sh*t, WTF was this dress maker thinking? It looks like a Project Runway reject gown where the maker couldn't decide whether it should be draped or a sweetheart neckline, and then tried to cover up the mistakes with tacky metal accents. Not a fan of these Shantanu-Nikhil 1/2 gown, 1/2 sari combos!

Despite the apparel, Kajol "There's more to me than just my uni-brow" Devgn looked fab. Clean and simple make-up paired with the side-swiped hair was fine. Some teeth whiteners would go a long way though....

Jiah Khan went Desi for the night. The anarkali was beautiful.

...wish we could say the same about her makeup. Yikes, she almost looks cartoonish.

Vidya Balan is her signature Sabyasachi. Blah to blahth power.

Urvashi Sharma is a complete washout in this shimmery nude sari with a tri-color accent. Hate the OBOOBI even more.

It's a sad, sad day when your 68 year old mother looks better than you.

Bimbette head tilt + armpit/ upper boob flab + a non-altered quasi-bondage dress + and a rotted Chiclet sh*t-eating grin =  Flashy Trashy Tannisha!

Nargis Fakhri made a rare appearance wearing a purple Dior gown. Looks like something a belly dancer would wear.

She's got a pretty face though, this one.

Is he farting or trying to air out his musty balls....well considering all his drug use...his musty marbles?

Yeah! Sameera Reddy brought some Va Va and a load of Voom, in this red number. We likey!

Oh Lawdy, not another one of those badly draped gowns!? Was it a full moon that night?

Call it a case of when bad clothes happen to good people. Those folks at Donna Karan must have done this one during happy hour, drunk off their ass. This dress looks like sh*t. Thank goodness Anushka has a tiny frame, cos anyone else wearing this would have a horrible silhouette.

Hell-OH Handsome!

Wow, another good turn out for Bipasha Basu! We much prefer this Sabyasachi sari to that of Vidya's, but we're not digging the puff-cinched sleeves.

Ms. Basu looks beautiful. Rocking the big red bindi, and keeping the accessories to a minimum finishes the overall look nicely, I think! We'll even overlook the OBOOBI this time....

Look who the photogs caught trying to sneak by! Shahid "My Daddy's movie was good, damn it!" Kapoor. Still my cutie pie...le sigh...

Leaving her Dragon Lady counterpart at home again, Ekta Kapoor made a lovely appearance wearing yet another Malini Ramani satin sheet dress. She's got on makeup, Y'all! She may have even left those damn platform chappals at home! Ekta looks fab from this distance
