Salman Khan offers to help 400 inmates

Salman Khan has offered to help about 400 inmates who have completed their jail term but continue to languish in jail.

When a convict is sentenced for a crime and is asked to pay a fine along with the jail term, they may have to serve an additional term if they are unable to pay the fine. Through his charitable organization Being Human, Salman Khan, has written to the jail authority and offered to pay the fine for the inmates so that they can be set free.

Jail authorities are awaiting clearance from the administration and once all permissions are granted, Salman's foundation will submit about Rs 40 lakhs that will be used to set free about 400 inmates in jails across the state of UP.

However when DC contacted Ravichandran, he did not deny the reports but said, ?It?s all in the initial stages. We are planning to bring Katrina Kaif on board. Nothing has been finalised.?
