Salman Khan denies calling Shirish over Shahrukh slap

The Shahrukh Khan- Shirish Kunder spat gave rise to rumours that Salman Khan called up the latter after the ugly incident.

However, according to reports, Salman was not even aware of the incident since he is shooting for Ek Tha Tiger in Cuba.

The actor has expressed his displeasure on being dragged into the controversy unnecessarily.

Shahrukh Khan had slapped Shirish Kunder, the husband of his once best friend choreographer Farah Khan, at a party hosted by Sanjay Dutt last Sunday. The two have thereafter reconciled their differences.

Not only Salman but his family members too were miffed at the reports claiming Salman's intrusion into the matter. Salim Khan, Salman?s father, is not happy with this and couldn't understand how anyone could publish his son?s name without confirming.

Katrina Kaif is the new Action Woman

Katrina Kaif to romance Kamal Haasan!

It seems Katrina Kaif is not only in demand in Bollywood but also down south. Recently, it was heard that she might sign Kochadaiyaan with the superstar Rajinikanth, and now, reports suggests that she is approached for a film opposite the talented Kamal Haasan.

The actress is likely to be part of the project, titled Thalaivan Irukkindran, that will mark the return of the duo Aascar Ravichandran and Kamal Haasan, and the makers are keen to have Shankar as director for the magnum opus. Sources further add, ?It looks like talks are on with A R Rahman as well to score the music for this larger-than-life movie.?

If all goes well then we might see the oh-so-beautiful Katrina Kaif with Kamal Haasan in this big budget Tamil film. But as for now talks are on with the actress, who is a bit tied up with two films: one is with Shahrukh Khan, while another one (read Dhoom 3) is with Aamir Khan.

After finishing his ambitious project Viswaroopam, Kamal is gearing up for Ravichandran?s film, which is also said to be the highest-budget film ever made in Tamil cinema.

Thalaivan Irukkindran will also have two other versions which are going to be made simultaneously. If Telugu version will star Prabhas, the Malayalam version will have Mohanlal in the lead. Insiders even claim that if everything works out perfectly then the movie might have a Hindi version as well.

KKR in right direction, says Shah Rukh Khan

With the three days left for the IPL-V auction, Shah Rukh Khan, principal owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, on Wednesday said the team thinktank under new coach Trevor Bayliss was going in the right direction to fill up the places.

Expressing confidence on their preparation for the auction, Shah Rukh said he would be meeting their new coach for the first time Thursday to get a first-hand knowledge about the team management's plans.

"I will be meeting him (Trevor) in Mumbai, Thursday. To be frank, I myself don't know about the specifics on the preparation.

"Cricketing decisions lie with our captain Gautam Gambhir and the support staff. I will get to know about the preparation tomorrow night and discuss the technical details," he said.

The Knight Riders have already started their preparation for the fifth season with a week's camp in Kolkata last month.

The team's new coach, though, is yet to join the squad.

Shah Rukh said they would move to Bangalore for the IPL-V auction on February 4.

A total of 144 players, including Indian Test batsman VVS Laxman, paceman S Sreesanth and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, will go under the hammer.

SRK-Farah at peace again, confirms Boman Irani

Amitabh Bachchan may be bad news for birds & wetlands

Amitabh Bachchan may be the best thing that might have happened to Gujarat tourism, but inviting tourists in droves to birding sites may in fact prove counter productive for conservation of wetlands. That seems to be the essence of how the birding community and foresters feel about promoting tourism as an effective means for conservation of wetlands. Today is World Wetlands Day and the theme this year is Wetlands and Tourism.

Incidentally, this comes close on the heels of Global Birdwatchers' Conference hosted by Gujarat Tourism Department with the stated purpose of promoting wetlands as tourist destinations. Gujarat is known 'the wetland state of India'. 17.56% of Gujarat's total land mass - the highest for any state in the country - is identified as wetland.

Approximately, 40% of all bird species found in the country have been sighted in the state and about 31 sites here host bird population in excess of 20,000.

In fact, flamingo colonies in the Little and Great Rann of Kutch are globally unique to this region.Even as promotion of the state tourism by Bachchan and birding for tourism is welcomed, a word of caution comes from all quarters.

?Unbridled tourism can ruin a wetland, and Nal Sarovar is a classic example of this and Thol is getting worse. Tourism is an important tool in the conservation process but only with effective regulation,? says naturalist and bird watcher Kandarp Katju.Division Forest Officer of Nal PA Patel succinctly sums it up as ?limited tourism?.

?There are fixed areas where tourists are allowed in Nal which is allright. Eco tourism should be promoted,? he said. Veteran avid birdwatcher Lavkumar Khachar in fact scoffs at the idea of promoting tourism at existing wetlands which lack the absolutely basic facilities.

?Promoting tourism in wetlands is like putting a cart before a horse. Nal and Thol are badly managed tourist spots; it would be a disgrace to take tourists there. Our birds also show filth. Wetlands should be conserved for their value, not for tourism,? he stated.

A noted orthinologist requesting anonymity says tourism can certainly be good for conservation but only if the laws are implemented effectively.

"Poachers will not stop if tourists abound in wetlands. In fact, if laws are not implemented properly, poachers will not have to go to the market to sell their kill, they will find consumers right on the spot," he pointed out. However, there seems to be unanimous consensus that tourists' hype about the wetland keeps the waterbody in focus and any attempt to spoil it for commercial purposes is foiled. "The most obvious example is Mahuva's fight for their bandharo against Nirma's cement plant. Because the waterbody was not a popular tourist destination, it even got the environment clearance in the first attempt. It was saved due to the villagers' relentless struggle. Today, can any industrial body try to reclaim space in Nal Sarovar or Thol," Khachar says.

Salman Khan underwent cosmetic surgery again?

Many are aware that Salman Khan underwent cosmetic surgery about a year ago, soon after his surgery to correct his nerve disorder. Salman had cosmetic surgery done around his eyes. Now the buzz doing the rounds is that Salman Khan might have got some correction done below the eyes again.

As per a leading website, Salman Khan went to a leading cosmetic surgeon once again in Dubai. The actor had earlier got a hair weaving done by the same surgeon. Rumours also state that this time, Salman Khan was accompanied by his father, Salim Khan, who also went through the same surgery.

Katrina Kaif yet to sing for Ali Zafar's next album

Actress Katrina Kaif was reportedly set to sing for Ali Zafar's upcoming album, but the Pakistani singer-turned-actor says that the project is not happening as of now. Ali, who developed a friendship with Kat while working on Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, says that the actress has a penchant for music.

In a chat with PTI, Ali Zafar confirmed that Katrina Kaif wants to sing for his next album. But they are yet plan for it officially. "Me and Katrina are good friends and whenever we meet we like to jam and discuss music, play the guitar. But plans to record something professionally is not in the current scheme of things. It is not happening in the near future," Ali told PTI.

It was rumoured earlier that Ali Zafar was working on his next album and was planning to rope in Katrina Kaif for it. Talking about the reports, Ali said, "I keep making music now and then but right now I am busy with films, so no album as such is in the pipeline. My last album was Jhoom which was more of a Sufi one. I usually take 2-3 years time to come out with an album."

However, Ali Zafar is basically a musician and he made his acting debut with the film Tere Bin Laden. He was recently seen with actress Katrina Kaif in the movie Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. The actor will next be seen in romantic comedy London, Paris, New York, which will be released on March 2.

Katrina Kaif is shooting in Havana for Kabir Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger" and Hollywood action director Conrad Palmisano is making the actress do daring stunts like free-falls.

Katrina, under the protective eye of co-star and friend Salman Khan, is doing what one member of Cuban unit describes as "the real thing".

"These are stunts that any macho hero would think twice before daring. Katrina is really pushing the envelope as far as the female machismo is concerned. She is doing free-falls with Salman by her side. We hear Kareena in 'Agent Vinod' and Kangna Ranaut in 'Krrish 2' would also be attempting the hi-jinks...," said the unit member.

When asked about her daredevil act, Katrina said: "Yeah, it's scary but great fun. I've only done very feminine delicate roles so far. This is a new challenge for me. I guess that's what I'm looking for at this stage of my career."

Palmisano, who has supervised the stunts for over 200 topnotch films and television series, oversaw Sheila LeBeouf's stunts in "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon", Nicolas Cage in the forthcoming "Seeking Justice" and Jackie Chan in "Rush Hour", informed the source from on-location.

Apparently Palmisano initially suggested "something softer" for Katrina.

The actress is preparing for them every morning.

"She wakes up at the crack of dawn to get warmed up for Palmisano's stunts. Then she gets down to action. Very risky ones, I might add which many of our Bollywood heroes would insist on being done by doubles. Lekin Katrina mein ek junoon hai. Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan Wednesday refused to categorically state whether he had slapped Shirish Kunder or not but said the reportage on the incident was affecting his kids.

"Lots of things are being said about my life in news channels but the stuff which you put up in the channels are not the whole truth. This is embarrassing at times as I have a 14-year-old son and an 11-and-a-half year old daughter," said Shah Rukh, who was in Kolkata to address a programme.

The Bollywood badshah felt it was embarrassing for a father to explain certain issues to his children.

"Every morning it becomes very difficult to explain to your children and it becomes embarrassing as a father, as a brother or as elder son of the family to explain about what is stated," he told reporters.

Shah Rukh reportedly roughed up editor-filmmaker Shirish, the husband of his former friend Farah Khan, in the wee hours of Monday during Sanjay Dutt's success party for "Agneepath".

"Bollywood stories are presented in a larger than life way... I have read the headlines. Yeah, some of them have not happened and some of them might have happened, but I would like to keep it to myself," he remarked.

Describing Farah as a very old friend, Shah Rukh regretted the reports that have been published about his differences with her.

"I have heard things that have been stated about us and it's very difficult for people to sit down and read things in the house. In our house, the kids call her Farah aunty. It's really sad when for last two years people say she said this and that... None of that is happening," he said.

However, he sounded hopeful of settling the differences.

"We can resolve our issues... certain issues we can resolve with hugs and happiness and I want to keep it personal," he said.

Earlier in Mumbai too he was evasive about the fracas.

"Did I tell you that there was a fight... no... so I will not tell anything about the patch up also," Shah Rukh told reporters at a pre-nuptial ceremony of Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza. The actor reached the function in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The truce between Shah Rukh and Shirish was reportedly initiated by Farah's brother Sajid Khan and filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala.

Shirish, Farah, Sajid and producer Nadiadwala met Shah Rukh at his house Mannat, where all of them sorted out the issue.

After the patch up, Shirish had told IANS that their frienship has become stronger than ever.

All is well between SRK and Shirish!

A day after Shah Rukh Khan roughed up Shirish Kunder at a party, things are now cool between the two. It is heard that Shirish and Farah met SRK n his wife Gauri at Mannat and sorted out their differences.

Joining Shirish and Farah were Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan who reportedly sent a SMS to Gauri, if they could come down to Mannat and settle the issue.

Gauri Khan welcomed them pleasantly. On Tuesday evening, Shirish Kunder, Farah Khan, Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala drove to Shahrukh Khan?s residence and spent almost three hours with the host.

What we hear is, Shahrukh Khan and Shirish Kunder hugged and and made up with each other.
Says Farah, ?We hugged and cried like one family.?

Sajid Khan told the media: ?Today is a very happy day for me. Today Farah has found her elder brother and Shahrukh has found his young sister again?.

Well, we are happy that the slappy episode ended on a good note.
