Imran v/s Ranbir battle heats up

Delhi Belly' has turned out to be a huge success hence resulting in a hat-trick for Imran Khan after 'I Hate Luv Storys' (hit) and 'Break Ke Baad' (coverage). On the other hand his closest rival Ranbir has some catching up to do as he hasn't had a release for almost a year now. His 'Rockstar' is continuing to get pushed and while it is expected to be huge on entertainment, it is still a wait for the star. Meanwhile for Imran this is turning out to be a pretty sorted out phase as he has a definite success in hand with his next release - Yash Raj's 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'.

"Imran is all set to make it four in a row," says an industry expert, "The film has everything going for it, whether it's his first time pairing with Katrina or the feel good 'marriage' subject, something that has seen a cent percent record in recent past. Remember how 'Tanu Weds Manu' and 'Band Baaja Baaraat' were lapped up by the masses as well?"

The rivalry would take a further turn early next year as well when Ranbir's 'Barfee' would be arriving close to Imran's tentatively titled 'Short Term Shaadi'. It would be also noticed quite closely due to the fact that the films would also be pitting Priyanka Chopra against Kareena Kapoor.

Will Imran make it five in a row? Well, that pretty much seems like the case. Now all eyes are on Ranbir whether he would gain back to back successes in 'Rockstar' and 'Barfee' and give it back at his close friend-n-rival Imran.

Deepika wants Ranbir?s romantic song in film Aarakshan!

Deepika Padukone wanted a song like Mora Piya from the movie Rajneeti to be picturised on her ? just like the way it was picturised on actors Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Known for the melodious music in his movies, Jha, for his forthcoming movie Aarakshan, was surprised when he heard of Padukone?s demand.

A close source includes, ?Deepika is a smart girl and knows exactly how to put forward her wishes. Before the film?s shooting, Deepika requested via sms to Prakash Jha to feature a love ballad on her, with a happy face smiley at the end. And her wish was granted. It was bound to ? as where most actors reserve peculiar demands for their directors and are in the news for their tantrums. It was clear that Padukone?s charming approach to get her special song worked.?

When asked about the request, Padukone told, ?I remember how Mora piya was such a rage. I remember messaging him (Prakash Jha) to please give me a good romantic song in his new film because Prakashji has a really good sense of music. I was really looking forward to shooting this song and it?s turned out amazing. Till now, Mora piya was always played on loop on my mp3 player wherever I was travelling. But now its Seedhe point pe aaona, which is such a playful and cute romantic song.?

Shahrukh Khan hits the million mark!

Shahrukh Khan?s fan following on Twitter is swelling beyond that of any other male star from Bollywood. Has King Khan?s wit and humour anything to do with this?

Shahrukh Khan has hit the million mark on Twitter. The superstar now boasts of more than a million followers on the microblogging site.

?Celebrating the million mark by watching Bambi with my daughter. Feeling the warmth...thanx all. Love u,? Shahrukh posted after reaching the seven digit number on the followers list.

The 45-year-old star has managed this feat despite having taken a sabbatical from Twitter due to nasty comments posted by some people.

The superstar returned to social networking after much prodding by Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha.

While Shahrukh and Priyanka Chopra are the only Bollywood celebs with more than a million followers, other Bollywood stars are also close to reaching the mark. Amitabh Bachchan has 898,382 followers and Salman Khan has 818,098 followers.

Shahrukh Khan is presently holidaying in England and Holland.

Shahrukh Khan pens story for Ra.One video game

Superstar Shahrukh Khan apart from offering the sci-fi film Ra.One this September, will also bring to to his fans a new video game based on the film, the story of which has been penned by the actor-producer himself. The game will feature six characters from the film, including Shahrukh's character G.One and Arjun Rampal?s character RA.One. This new PlayStation game have more than 20 game play environments and will offer a number of challenges and multi-player action levels.

The country manager of Sony PlayStation India, Mr. Atindriya informed that Shahrukh Khan has hugely contributed to the making of the games. King Khan has closely worked with the pre-production of the game on Ra.One.

It is reported that the game can be considered as a prequel to what happens in the film Ra.One. The game draws a direct connection from the original environment of the film and the powers of the characters. The main cast of Ra.One have also given voice-overs for their respective characters in the game. The cost of the game has not been fixed, however the makers assure that it will be decided keeping the masses in mind so that it can be accessible to as many people as possible.

Arjun Rampal dismisses Salman Khan?

Actor Salman Khan seems to be the flavour of the season. His corrupt cop act in Dabangg has since then inspired many actors to don the uniform, including actor Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn and John Abraham. And the lastest one tojoin the cop act bandwagon is hunky actor Arjun Rampal, who will be seen playing one in filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia?s next.

But the buzz is that Rampal is not interested in modeling his character on Salman?s portrayal of a cop. While it was earlier decided that Rampal would play an uncouth North-Indian cop, Rampalsuggested that they model the character slightly differently. He apparently wanted his character to be a sophisticated, well-educated and polished one and not crude and raw.

A source says, ?Arjun was supposed to play a cop from the North, a la Chulbul Pandey, but on realising that people would eventually draw comparisons between the two, Rampal and Tigmanshu decided to change it a bit. They don?t want any comparisons with the two films, especially because this film will also see actor Preity Zinta?s comeback to the big screen after a long hiatus.?

With every actor trying to get into method acting Rampal is not too far behind. He has been meeting top cops to get a deeper understanding of how to perfectly essay the role of a policeman.

During his recent visit to the capital, Rampal met the police commissioner there and a few other members of his team to get a firsthand account straight on how they go about work on a daily basis.

Sources also say that he plans to visit top officials in the police department in a few regions of the North to ensure that he?s gets all the mannerisms right. Rampal has also been taking extensive notes from his meetings and intends to follow it like a Bible to get his act right.

Priyanka Chopra?s ?Don 2? stunt double dies

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra?s ?Don 2: The Chase Continues? stunt double Bibi, a girl from Berlin, passed away Monday due to unknown reasons. Priyanka, and her co-star, Shah Rukh Khan paid their condolences on Twitter.

?It?s shocking how unpredictable life can be. Bibi, my stunt double from Don 2 passed away. Taught me all I did in the film,? Priyanka posted on her Twitter page.

?RIP Bibi? here?s a prayer for her and courage her family?from all of us on Don 2,? added the 28-year-old, who is said to have some heavy duty action sequences in the movie.

Shah Rukh, who plays the main lead, wrote: ?A prayer from all in Don 2 for our friend & stunt girl Bibi?who left us for a better place. Lov u (sic).?

However, both the actors did?t say what was the reason behind Bibi?s death.

?Don 2: The Chase Continues?, directed by Farhan Akhtar, is the sequel to the 2006 film, ?Don: The Chase Begins Again?, which itself is a remake of the 1978 film ?Don?.

The film is set for release in Dec 2011.

Katrina Kaif expects birthday gifts from Hrithik, Farhan and Abhay

Katrina Kaif?s birthday is on Saturday, which is just a day after Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara releases. Little surprise then that she expects birthday gifts from her co-stars.

Katrina and the film?s actors Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol have been on a road trip to promote the film. They were in New Delhi on Sunday where they chatted with the media persons.

When asked what she expects on her birthday, Katrina said: ?I think I can expect a surprise party from my producer and Farhan has already sorted out his gifts for me and I am happy with it. Abhay's and Hrithik's gifts need to be sorted out.?

However, on second thoughts Katrina said the good run of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara would be the best birthday gift for her.

?I am praying and hoping that the film is received by the audiences very well,? said Katrina

Katrina turns 27 on Saturday. She has no plan of throwing a personal party but, as she said, the cast of ZNMD might surprise her with a party.

Hrithik Roshan: There is no comparison with Big B

Actor Hrithik Roshan, who just returned from Diu after wrapping up his upcoming film Agneepath, a remake of megastar Amitabh Bachchan's iconic movie of the same name, says that there is no comparison between the legend Big B and him. He told Agneepath is 'just' another film for him.

"In my mind, there are no comparisons, because Agneepath for me, is just another film," he said when asked if he was prepared for the inevitable comparisons with Big B when this Karan Johar remake releases on January 13, 2012. "There's no manipulation and calculation. I reacted to the script instinctively and related to it without a thought for the original Agneepath. And there is no effort to do things differently, but just convincingly," Hrithik added.

Before starting off for the promotions of his upcoming release Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Hrithik recalled his gruelling schedule with action sequence shot on rocky mountains. ?I don't think I have worked this hard in my entire life...I feel like I have been steamrolled, I must be getting old," he continued, "I was dragged on my back and chest. I had ice packs on my knees and elbows and returned home black and blue. I have a zillion scratches and bruises on my stomach."

Hrithik is satisfied for being able to can some incredible stunts. "It's this passion for good cinema that drives you to take all this pressure and pain," he said. Taking 'Just Dance' very seriously, Hrithik let his hair down at the wrap-up party of the show in Diu. "I threw my hands and legs around and just let myself go. I must have looked stupid but it was a liberating feeling to be finished with the action. And soon, the rest of the crew and cast were taking a cue from me and joining in. It is about celebrating the little moments in life and enjoying them without inhibition," he told.

Talking about Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik showed his excitement about the veteran's recent release Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap. "I have just seen the promos and they took me back to the time, when I was 12 years old and Amit uncle was doing films like Deewar, Hum and Shahenshah. The film is a treat for Bachchan fans and I am one of them," Hrithik told.

Hrithik, Katrina's mutual admiration society

Hrithik Roshan seems to be quite impressed with Katrina Kaif's team spirit and feels her unselfishness has made her so successful in filmdom, while the actress praises him describing him as a "phenomenal" actor.

"I had not seen any of her films until I had started working with her in 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. It just happened that I had not been able to see her films," Hrithik told us.

"I was absolutely delighted to work with her. She is a team player and is not a selfish actor. I like to work with people who give themselves to work, towards the entirety of same goal, that's what she is, that's how she is. That's what has got her so far. What I have seen of her and what people have seen of her on screen is not even 10 percent of what she is capable of," he added.

Katrina couldn't stop raving about Hrithik either.

"Thank you for saying that you have not seen any of my films. I didn't know that. I have seen his films and have always been a huge fan of his work. He's a phenomenal actor and I was really excited to have got a chance to work with him," she said.

Jr. Bachchan mobbed by fans

Stars and bizarre fans are a routine feature in tinsel town, Abhishek Bachchan too encountered one recently.
Jr. Bachchan who attended a high profile musical play organized at the NCPA on Sunday had a bitter experience when he was mobbed by unruly fans. Although earlier Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were also supposed to grace the event but they backed out at the last minute.
Apparently, they decided to stay at home only after the over-enthusiastic fans gathered outside Jalsa created a riot. To control the situation, police had to be called which resulted in a mob fury. Ultimately, they had to use force to disperse the crowd.

Expressing his regret, Bachchan immediately posted on his Twitter handle, ?I apologize to all the fans that came to Jalsa this evening, as on all Sundays, and got roughed up by the police? Spoke to the Station and they immediately sent in a representative to apologize for the action?they were controlling the huge rush?Thank you Mr. Bhagat and Mumbai Police for your prompt action? these fans do not mean trouble, just wait obediently to cheer ?.?

Kunal back to books for flying exam

Actor Kunal Kapoor, whose second passion after acting is flying planes, is busy with physics and mathematics queries for his flying exam so that he can get his licence soon.

Kunal has been been spending a considerable amount of time locked up in his study for good results and enjoying going back to books.

?I remember, in school, I used to dread exams but for an actor, every Friday is like the biggest possible exam. So now, every other exam really seems like a cakewalk. And it?s actually great fun going back to books. It takes you back to your college and school days, especially the dozing off before the end of the lecture bit. He won't let it go!

Geez Man, get a grip and move on already! Madhur Bhandarkar is still ~~crying~~ reeling from his dream film being ditched. As if that's not enough, now he's taking out his anger on everyone who spoke out in ARB's defense! WTF?

Prodcuer/director Vipul Shah, a close friend of ARB, was also set to make a film with her and Marshmallow (Ladies & Gentlemen) before ARB's pregnancy news was announced. Having that project on hold, Vipul has been vocal about his support for ARB, having said that she had every right to conceal her pregnancy news for as long as she did.

Apparently Vipul was the first on Madhur's ~~Hit~~ Sh*t List. Onlookers say Bhandarkar accosted Shah and proceeded to shout about their difference of opinion:

?When Vipul saw Madhur, he did not expect him to get into an argument at a public place. But Madhur told Vipul he had betrayed a friend by supporting the other side."

A shocked Vipul tried his best to make peace and explained that he merely supported ARB's right to privacy. Bhandarkar ended it by saying he's done with the whole mess and the resolution is between UTV and ARB.

Well obviously he's not "done" with the matter. He's as bitter as a Siberian winter. Vipul Shah confirmed the incident, stating:

?Yes, I did bump into Madhur. He had a certain point of view to put forward. I respect his opinion, but one has to do what one?s conscience allows.?

Other reports are stating that Bhandarkar is on a mission to confront everyone who spoke out in ARB's defense:

?Madhur has been calling up everyone who spoke in defence of Aishwarya. He?s told them that they?re not understanding the loss he?s suffered and what a setback the actress?s withdrawal from the project has been to him.?

Nooooooo, say it ain't so Sugar?! Of all the babes in B-town, why this one? Whaa yyyy? Ok, regather BC, get a grip! Surely this is karma for my consistent ridiculing of her....?

So news of our fav. Sidewalk Sally having a new mystery man in her life isn't exactly new news. Bipasha Basu has been very secretive about him, and only referred to him as "someone new" but made sure not to drop any kind of hints. Well now ~~the world has come to an end~~ an Indian daily is reporting that Bipasha's new man is none other than our tea-totaling Sugar Pie, Shahid Kapoor. A snitch told the media:

"For over a month now, Bipasha has been talking about a very sweet guy in her life. She's been telling friends that he's an eligible young man and has been showering her with gifts and some much-needed attention. She's been gushing to her friends about how "sweet and affectionate" he is. Bips maintains that while they are not serious yet, he's been wooing her persistently and she's basking in the warmth of his adoration. Obviously they are only just getting to know each other, so Bips doesn't want to jinx it by talking openly about Shahid."

Ugh gross, puke, VOMIT! So I guess Momma's ~~Boy~~ Himbo was just a ~~one~~ ~~two~~ three night stand? Hope Bipasha enjoyed her short ride on the Herpes Express!

People began doubting Bipasha and Shahid's just "friends" ~~with benefits~~ relationship when Bipasha suddenly turned up at Shahid's party. They don't have the same social circle, so Bipasha's attendance at his party sent Bollywood's non-Botoxed eyebrows araising! Said a source:

"On Saturday night, Shahid hosted a small party at his newly-renovated Andheri home. There were about 20 guests, and Bipasha was also present. Shahid had invited only a handful of his close friends, including Siddharth Anand, Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Ayesha Takia and husband Farhan Azmi, Ahmed Khan, so her presence there raised quite a few eyebrows."

Word is they met through their mutual personal trainer, Abbas, and supposedly bonded over their fitness obsession. Story went on to say that Shahid was spotted a few weeks back with hickeys all over his neck. ~~See? She's trying to chew you up and spit you out before she moves on to her next victim!~~ When he was asked who slobbered all over him, Shahid didn't say, prolly out of embarrassment? But he was spotted with her later on that night.

The article also stated that Shahid and Bipasha hadn't worked together, which is incorrect. They have. So we are seriously hoping (and praying) that the rest of this bizarre story about Senorita Sexalot and Sugar Pie is F.A.L.S.E.! Surely Shahid knows how much Bipasha loves ~~c*ck-a-doodle-doo~~ chicken!?
