Deepika joins Saif in London

Deepika Padukone is in London shooting her third film with Saif Ali Khan. She is taking advantage of the extra dates she has on her hands thanks to a delay in the shooting of K S Ravikumar?s Tamil flick Rana, in which she stars opposite Rajinikanth. The south star was recently hospitalized following

repeated bouts of illness and is now recuperating in Singapore with his family.

But Deepika doesn?t seem to mind, and insists that she?s upbeat about her successful pairing with Saif, who she also shares screen space with in Prakah Jha?s Aarakshan. She admits, ?Neither of us knew we were shooting these films together until we came on the sets. It was a pleasant surprise for us. And since Love Aaj Kal was a hit, why not??

DipsAsk whether the repeated pairing with Saif might seem monotonous for the audience and she says in defence, ?In Aarakshan, I play Amitabh Bachchan?s daughter who falls in love with Saif?s character. The conflict arises when her beau and father have differences of opinion over the issue of reservation. Whereas in Cocktail, we will be seen in a slick avatar which is very different from Jha?s film.?

And though reports suggested that Saif?s real-life leading lady Kareena Kapoor wasn?t too kicked about this reel duo, Deepika insists that there has never been any trouble. She says, ?Speculations of my fight with Kareena or Katrina Kaif are a figment of the media?s imagination. It doesn?t change my rapport with anyone. When I don?t get a chance to interact with them, how am I supposed to have an issue with them??

Interestingly the release of Aarakshan has also been pushed back from its original July 1 date because Jha didn?t want Amitabh Bachchan?s professor image in his film clashing with that of the actor?s over-the-top avatar in Puri Jagannadh?s Bhuddah Hoga Terra Baap.
